I watched Reggie Jackson play in the he 80's in Baltimore. The Man could play; swing on both sides of the plate. Never saw Anything like that. He was a big man; a Home Run Slugger! I went to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame induction dinner in 1976. Willie Mays was selected for induction. He didn't tell anybody, but he never got on the plane to come be honored by his home state. Later complained that he had never been offered a ticker tape parade, which they later gave him. I was a kid then, but because of that no show I would never have asked for his autograph when I got older. Ppl were trying to do right and he showed his rear end. Sorry he had a bad experience, but things improved a lot before the 1970's were done, but Alabama gets slandered even today for the actions of a few those years ago.
