Insanely fun game, would definitely recommend this one!! One question regarding 2 player mode for which I couldnt find an answer in the rulebook: what happens when at the beginning of one game not a single diamonds is dealt? We had this one case and while it‘s kinda possible 9 of 10 times to avoid having no diamonds on the hand, in this case we just lost after the first boss.. anyways super fun game nonetheless!!

Found this on reddit recommendations/website. It was an amazingly fun game overall. I was struggling about the game rules and mechanics at first. Luckily, yt video already came to save the day. I would've gotten a silver victory on solo mode at least because king of diamonds was my last encounter on castle deck and painful to deal with. My cards were mostly weak except Jack and had only one jester left. I had no choice to use jester for immunity. There's tons of handicap this game to make more challenging and replayable and I want to attempt it. ❤😊

Love the game and great video. At 8:50 why wouldn't the player lay down the Ace of Spades for exact kill instead of yielding. They don't die if they run out of cards, correct? Only if they need to play a card, but can't I thought.
@JohnMRaggio11 ай бұрын
I re-listened and figured it out. I forgot that when you kill an enemy you start off against the next one. We were actually playing that wrong by moving to the next player. Curious, why did you design it so the the player that kills the enemy starts off against the next one? Was it too easy to beat the game the other way?
@badgersfrommars11 ай бұрын
Hi @@JohnMRaggio ! THe issue was that in 3 player in particular, one player would deal the killing blow, never have to take an attack, and the same player would always be taking the first attack. it got really out of balance. now this way, all turns start with the previous player having take a hit of some kind.

8:15 Would player 3 need to yield in fear of death? They would be able to do exact damage and then choose the next player, who would in turn hopefully get them to draw cards. Can't wait to start playing this game! 👍
@badgersfrommars3 жыл бұрын
Hey Charlie! When a player defeats an enemy they do not get to choose who goes next; they must play next. The only time that happens is when someone plays the Jester. So yes, very important that they yield there :)
@RazzerRiley3 жыл бұрын
@@badgersfrommars You absolute legends, thank you! I must have missed that.
@shlomgar3 жыл бұрын
The solo variant for regicide should have something to replace yielding. The goal of the solo game is not to use jesters. In my second game I've made a brilliant move dropping my last diamond, an ace, in a combo that let me draw 6 new cards. Alas, none of them were diamonds, so whatever I did afterwards I had to use a jester and it effected my score. Meaning that in that game, luck determined my score much more than skill. I added yielding to solo game with this one rule - Once before confronting a new enemy, you can choose to yield a turn. You are not playing any attack card, instead, draw one card of your choice from the discard pile to the field and place it sideways, you must play it on the next turn. You then take full damage from the enemy. Play the card you took from the discard pile, you can also use combos with it. After you defeat the enemy, the card you took from the discard pile is scraped completely off the game (not into the discard pile). I might have created a new problem though. On some occasions, when you can't exact-defeat a club and unless you have a very good spade in hand, it's almost a no brainer to yield and draw it back, but I tried this rule in solo several times and it at least feel like you have more control.
@badgersfrommars3 жыл бұрын
Hi Shlomgar! Yeah solo is a different beast. You need to treat diamonds like they are real diamonds and manage them accordingly. There will be times though when you just refill and you don't get one. Play it more and you'll learn a few more tricks that will help to reduce the chances of this happening. I have been playing a bajillion games of solo for testing the solo mode that we're about to release on the app and it becomes less and less frequent the more you play. Still, it's a deck of cards, and sometime it just doesn't fall your way. I like the simplicity of the Jesters. And more control, while it might make you feel safer, isn't necessarily a good in and of itself. Glad you're jamming some games!
@shlomgar3 жыл бұрын
@@badgersfrommars yeah, I love the jesters, it's like lives in old arcade games. After you beat it once now you wanna do it without losing lives. I am yet to win without a jester, even with my rule variation so I'm not worried. :)

2:54 - You attack the Jack with 18 (6 of clubs x2 plus 6 of spades). That is more than enough to defeat the Jack's 8 health, yet you only reduce the Jack's health by 6 down to 2. Why is this?
@badgersfrommars7 ай бұрын
Hi! You're just missing the timing on the numbers being changed. 20 health, -12 for the 6 of clubs goes to 8, -6 for the 6 of spades goes to 2, then killed with a 4.

5:33 at this time stamp, you said that they can play a combo as long as the total is ten. So why did he play the three twos, since 2+2+2=6. Does the clubs take effect too? Also, are runs allowed too?
@badgersfrommars4 ай бұрын
The combos are restricted to adding up to 10 or less. All suits take effect, except for those to which the enemy is immune. The clubs power doesn't change the combo total for checking the limit of 10. For example, the attack strength of 4 of hearts and 4 of clubs is 8 (and therefore a legal combo). Then you resolve their powers. Heal 8 cards and deal double 8 damage, which is of course 16.

@@ColasTeam yeah it's not possible to win from there. This will happen about once every 160 hands in 2 player so it won't happen that often. @badgersfrommarsАй бұрын
Hi! I assume you're wondering about the second turn of the game? In that case the enemy's attack had been recuded by the value of the played spade (6), not the number of cards (1). Every siuit power is resolved at the value of that attack. So the 6 of spades reduced the enemy's strength by 6 (down to 4), not by 1. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Do the Jokers go in the Tavern deck, or can they be off to the side and used whenever like in Solo? In a two player game, can only one person yield? Hi Adam. The enemy cards are worth their attack value in hand. So the Jack of Spades functions like a 10 of Spades when playing or discarding, and if you play the Queen of Clubs, she'll do 30 damage (because she is a 15 of Clubs). Yes, playing the King of Diamonds will draw the team 20 cards.

Digging the solo version so far. After playing an attack card and not having enough to fulfill the attack, can your remaining cards go toward fulfilling the attack before using a jester or do they have to be discarded entirely before the use of the jester, forcing you to only use cards out of your new 8 to fulfill the full attack damage?

It's all or nothing. You can use the Jesters at the beginning of the step, not halfway through.
