Great video Regie, and very timely. This very night I received six formerly pristine books (Infinity War 1-6) from an eBay seller (whom I had never bought from before) that he sandwiched between two small, ill-fitting pieces of cardboard, but left this "brick" floating in a large box with no bubble wrap. The box arrived crushed along the length and width, and all six books are ruined on the bottom corners. So very lame and frustrating. This video should be mandatory viewing for every eBay comic seller out there! Thanks for all your hard work with this stuff Regie...your channel is the best.

Great video Regie. A lot of useful info on how to ship comics safely. I think everyone on Ebay or IG or where ever you sell comics should take a course on how to ship books safely before they can sell. Lol. Great tip on using the CGC box to ship books back to them. I usually send books to CGC at cons but if you can't make a con this is an awesome tip. Probably going to try that for my next shipment out to CGC. Great job Regie.

I was a little surprised you didn't put the comic stack side ways on the cling wrap and run it end over end, but I suppose it would leave huge overlaps if you did it that. I enjoyed the video and might have even learned something! Some people think I am to old to learn anything new though, so we shall see!
@RegieCollects5 жыл бұрын
Correct. Then you have to worry about putting too much pressure on the book if it gets stacked blah blah blah. The extra takes up room in the Gemini shipper. Blah blah blah. I don’t think you’re too old. 😀👊🏾

Great Video Regie, I've been looking forward to this one since you announced it the other day. Great idea with the wrap, way better than just the tape! I was looking for something that would protect the books a little more from the elements. Because I have an eBay store I get free bubble envelops, that I would put my thick mailer envelops into. but I've been looking into the Gemini boxes since I've gotten a few from the books I've bought and reused them the same way and they fit just as well into the bubble ones! I look forward to trying out the wraps, Thanks again!
@RegieCollects5 жыл бұрын
I am a fan of the Gemini shippers. They are well constructed and protect the books well. Knock on wood, I have never had an issues. With the wrap you also protect them from the elements-a little. 😂

How do you deal with raws that are inside bags when originally released (for example the recent amazing spider-man venom 3d #1 that was bagged with a pair of 3d glasses or the old Mcfarlane spider-man 1. If i have 2, one i open to read and i keep the other sealed, how do i keep the sealed copy? How do i board it? Thanks for all the advice you provide for us collectors who don't have as much experience. Love your videos.
@RegieCollects5 жыл бұрын
This is a tough one because I don’t have hard and fast rules. I have very few of these books in my collection. With that said, I do have books from the 90s that are still in polybags. If you have multiples I guess you could open them for reading or you could read a digital version. As far as storage, an oversized poly bag and board might work for protection-put the entire comic and polybag inside. 🤷🏾♂️😀

Hey Regie. Just curious - if someone doesn't have any shipping boxes from CGC, do you know where to buy this type of padded outer box? Thanks!
@RegieCollects5 жыл бұрын
My guess is that this type of box is pretty expensive. You might be better off having FedEx bubble wrap the individual Gemini shippers then dropped them until a box. That’s how I use to send my shipments before I started returning the CGC shippers. FedEx has multiple box sizes and can add bubble wrap to fill in extra space. If you really want the thick cardboard try Uline.

Thanks for the video! I haven't shipped any comics yet. This is great info for someone like me that is going to doing so in the future. Several years ago I had a Postal Service employee tell me off for a flat rate box having a bulge from a clarinet case. Good to know the flat rate envelopes are ok to use with Gemini shippers, since they seem to be well respected in the comic book community.

@RegieCollects5 жыл бұрын

@bradstueck3 жыл бұрын
I would be careful about the first example you showed. If you have 3-5 LARGE books, they might still fit in the gemini mailer, but maybe not so well when you put the gemini mailer into the flat rate envelope. If the usps decides that whatever you just tried to put into the FLE does NOT fit, they will charge the recipient of the package, the difference in price of properly mailing it, and no one wants that little gift. Also, with the second example you gave, you didn't really explain that there is a lot of empty space when you put that brick of comics into the 12 x12 flat rate box. If that space isn't taken up by something, then that means damaged comics. And finally, your example about sending slabs and whatnot, was nearly perfect. I would however, add a couple of those cardboard slices that you pre-cut (the larger ones). With all that said, lol, good job!
@RegieCollects3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for viewing and comment. The benefit of flat rate is that if it fits, it ships for that price. I have shipped hundreds of books and not once has someone received a bill. Put another way the weight limit is dozens of pounds. With the second example I explained that the empty space should be filled with bubble wrap to prevent the books from bouncing around (top to bottom) because there would be no side to side motion give the cut of cardboard. How much bubble wrap is dependent upon the brick being assembled. I have also come up with another method that I’ll share at some point. With all of these examples, I have had hundreds of shipments with all sorts of books with zero issues which is what gave me the confidence to record this video. And, you’re right, you can certainly add cardboard to a slab but it is not necessary. At the end of the day, people should do what make sense to them. Thanks again.
@bradstueck3 жыл бұрын
My apologies, you are right. I missed the part that you explained about the empty space, I went back and watched it. I was wrong, lol. I honestly do absolutely love the cling wrap technique you showed. I just might have to use that. Thanks
