From the biggest Beatle fan in this world I say, Regina Spektor does this so beautiful, I would bet a million that John Lennon may have written it for her if he heard how Regina would do it beforehand. This is more then a rendition. It is a tribute to the finest degree. And I wont read any opinionated comment that says anything otherwise.

i was at this show, it was the first time i had ever heard of regina and i was completely blown away by her ability to sing, play piano, and bang that wooden chair with a drum stick. regina spektor is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Regina is one of those artists who is capable of taking somebody's song and changing making it kind of her song without ruining the song, disrespecting the artists original imput nor get away with it to easy. I'm a huge John Lennon fan but I think regina did a great job to, as wel as with little boxes

As much as I love Lennon, and I so do, I will never accept negativity about this cover. I will never ever ever ever times a trillion never ever accept a negative criticism about this version. I wont listen to any 'everyone has there own opinion crap'. The way she does this is absolutely beautiful.

This is absolutely beautiful. People that are putting her down are just too obsessed with this idea of everything Lennon did being sacred and untouchable. Can I just say I am the biggest Lennon fan before I get thousands of hate messages..seriously..it's been a life long obsession with him. it annoys me when people compare to the original with any of the beatles material. its impossible to match up, but that doesnt mean that artists should stop covering their music, it deserves to keep being heard. there are thousands of horrible efforts on youtube but for every a hundred shocking versions of yesterday there will be something priceless like this

Giustissima osservazione di Minsky. La Spector interpreta con grandi trasporto, delicatezza e sentimento questo brano straordinario. John, che aveva una sensibilita' eccezionale e delicatissima, dopo averla ascoltata, le avrebbe certo assegnato questo brano ed anche altri. Lennon amava comporre canzoni rock o blues ed il romantico melodista nei Beatles avrebbe dovuto essere McCartney, ma Lennon quando creava sapeva scavare nella sua anima come pochi e sapeva comporre anche brani profondi, semplici e molto diretti come questo. Il quale tocca il cuore e l'anima di chiunque perche' sgorgano, purissimi, senza mediazioni, dal cuore e dall' anima di John.

songs n poems r never meant to have just one version. everyone will have his/her own version of it, and its okay as long as u do justice to it. for me this version was as new as the lennon version would be(...as i never listened to that either), n one thing is certain, this one is just perfect...I don't think lennon or anyone would/should ever mind...
