this song is the reason I have the "slings and arrows" quote from Hamlet memorised. I feel like I've got to attribute a fair bit of my successes in Year 12 English to Regina

Especially the chanting part near the end. Gave me chills. Low quality helped that effect.

Queen Elizabeth I was known as the virgin queen as she never married, want to not give up her country to a foreigner, or lose control of her own power. She presided over the Elizabethan era, a time of prosperity, and incidentally, hamlet was written this time "to be or not to be; that is the quest: whether tis' nobler to..."

Thanks to Slicknick. It's such a brilliant gig this one & she mentions it as a fav of hers on some interview back in a 2005 interview. It would have been so fine to have been there. I think she genuinely likes England and our quirkiness.

To me the chords sound similar to the line "joyful and tri-um-phant" from the Christmas carol O Come All Ye Faithful. Maybe that's what it reminds you of?

Does anyone know if she is quoting another song from 0:51-1:03 ? It makes me think of some traditional British anthem or Christian hymn, but I can't put my finger on what it is.
