this song is like that one person who tries to protect everyone and tries hard to make everyone feel happy/included even if its tiring to do, and feel like its their burden to make everyone happy, and the one person who distances themselves from everyone naturally even if they want to have friends because they feel like they are undeserving, not genuine or something, then finds friends when they are lonely, but repeats the cycle all the time I feel kind of like both of them, i try to make everyone happy and included but slowly distance myself from everyone impulsively for a few months trying to observe from afar, and i think it probably doesn't affect anyone, then try making friends the next few. like in and out of being social because both statuses are so tiring also the song is just nice like lol Edit: im happy some of yall feel more understood. dont worry you arent alone

This song reminds me of the best friend I had as a kid.. They never told me they were moving schools in the first grade, it felt like a normal day until she wasn't there,never came again. It really hit different when the song said "They will never let go of that wire, but he's just a liar" (something like that) but without the liar part, I still remember the pain I felt without having a friend for years.. I have new friends now but I still miss her, its been years since I have seen her and hoping she remembers me :(

i understand you. i have this friend, met her on 7th grade and we became inseparable. we were best friends, but on 8th grade something happened. we were on a friend group and i had problems with them and left because i kept getting excluded. not her, though. she always was the twilight zone. so she stayed friends with them and she forgot about me, instead she hung out with them always. not only that, but other guy who used to be my best friend as well met her on 8th grade and they became best friends, forgetting about me. to make it short: she made new friends and now we're drifting apart. she says she misses the old days, but she doesn't do anything to fix this. i always tried to keep us together but i eventually gave up because it wasn't reciprocated - i have to accept that she has other friends and she isn't interested in me anymore. still, it hurts because i don't have many friends and this friendship was gold for me. we understood each other and we had similar tastes. we were an inseparable duo. i may or may not be mad at her and her friends because at some point they were all my friends but they forgot about me the moment she came; i did everything for them even if i had to do unpleasant things, and this is what i get? but well, there's nothing i can do, so yeah

this isn’t a vent, but if you get sad reading this, I apologize. This song reminds me of my first friend. She was incredibly pretty, and her name was Violet, but they go by Alex now, from what I’ve heard. On my first day of school, I saw her in line in the hall. She asked me if I wanted to be her friend, and I told her I’d think about it. At lunch, her dad forgot to put the food in her backpack, so I shared my lunch with her. After that, we became the closest friends. Sadly, In 3rd grade, she said she was moving, and I didn’t think it would be that much of an issue, since she said I could always visit her. It’s been years since I’ve seen them, and the only way I can reach out to her is through online messaging, but I’ve always been nervous as to if she wants to talk to me. I miss her deeply, but I have no idea if she’ll remember or care to reach back out to me. :’)

I’m listening to this song as it’s one of my last days in Toronto. I live in a small town, and sure I like it but I’ve never felt like I fully fit in. I came to Toronto, went on the CN tower, watched my first NBA game, saw enormous buildings, and I felt happier then I have for a long long time. I feel like I belong in the city. Bigger chances to pursue my singing career, a bunch of people and teenagers, that seem happy ( even though I could have no idea. ) And I just feel accepted. I laughed, I genuinely smiled, I wasn’t alone… and the thought of going back to my hometown, where I feel alone, no genuine people and friends…I just feel genuinely happy here and it makes me so so sad to go back to my town, as bad as it seems. I just love this place so much. I’ve only been here for 4 days, and it’s my first time but I feel so… Genuinely happy. It’s so hard to explain. But I’m crying that I need to go back. Maybe it was because i’m away from the fake friends, rude teachers, and this dull school and life that I have everyday. The city is so interesting and everyone is so genuine, happy or sad. This message is getting long, and if you read the whole thing, then wow. :’D Well. I guess just one more day. I’ll make the most of it.. God I’m crying so much right now.

The one experiencing depression distances themself from their friend, their friend promising to never leave their side, and that they would be with them through this but . . eventually their friend gives up trying to help them because no matter what they do it doesnt work. They leave the depressed one behind because the relationship is toxic to both of them. In the end, the depressed one is left behind once more, and forgotten about, and their friend goes on to live life without them. idk this is sorta my thought on this

This one song has different povs but one that sticks out to me more. This makes me think about two cousins or best friends we will name them kah and Ted and they going through trauma or something bad together but the difference is that Ted is healing slowly and the other aka kah is having trouble with healing but instead of telling Ted they lie and tell them they are also feeling better just bc they don't want to worry Ted to worry. I actually cried listening to this song. I had a bird once. Budgies actually, the girl was brave and the boy was weak. The girl always bites him whenever he eats. Whenever I come closer the girl always goes near, and the boy would back away because he’s scared. Then Something happened. There was something that knocked over their cage and the girl escaped. I was crying so hard because we couldn’t get her out of a high tree. We tried everything to get her out and she flew away. The boy got closer to us and being so brave to come closer to us. but still is depressed. Now I know why she stops him from eating a lot because he was stress eating, he’s always nervous and she’s there to comfort him. The girl wanted him to come but he was too scared. Now that she’s gone, he’s been depressed everyday. Then one day. He died😭 him laying on the cage, it looks like he was finally free..
