It was the pianist fault actually (The part where they failed to harmonize). Regine barely makes any mistakes especially in doing harmonies as well as Ogie. Regine doesn't use any in ear monitors even if it's a big dome, arena, stadium, etc...

Special trivia: Hanggang Ngayon is a soundtrack and title of one of Regine's movies where she starred as a lead actress. And as you know, Ogie again wrote the song for her. All of that trivia also holds true for Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka. PKAIK is both a movie and a song by Regine, again written by Ogie for her

The piano was OFF. Regine and Ogie has sung this duet a thousand times together for literally 20 years now, plus Ogie was the songwriter of Hanggang Ngayon. Regine here immediately heard that the chords at the bridge were wrong and wouldnt match her belting melody and that's why her face cringed and she immediately stopped. Anyway it was almost an impromptu sing-along so mistakes are forgiven

It was the pianist actually. Filipinos know this song very well and we can tell. Also, hanggang ngayon's modulation part was not in the script, I think. Ogie and Regine just proceeded so the pianist got confused

Obviously they know the notes by heart (this is why regine instantly recovered). But did you notice they were listening and adjusting to the piano as well (instead of singing and have the piano “follow” their lead - they couldve insisted on the key they wanted to sing on) and they got caught when the piano messed up. Lol. But they know their notes.

wow whos off key? Ogie is a songwriter and a singer. He cant be offkey on the song he wrote. i know youre somewhat bias on Regine. But shes off here. And yes shes one of Philippines populae singers. But shes not alone up there. Actually many also prefer Lanii m. And shes revered as legend .But theyre more from the 90s. As much as she has many songs in the internet. Regibe is not on top nor the best in the Philippines. This is something that a peron had only created in his head. There are singers newer in the philippines who have more powerful voice. Regine voice falls in the high range. Sge struggles to sing low. She like to do runs. She uses that along with voice modulations. But she lacks the fullness and clarity that affects the emoting of the lyrics. So its easy for foreigners to think she sang everyrhing well. But in reality. emotions is one of tje most important aspect of singing in the philippines. Regines voice is not as powerful ike say for instance eg Bituin Escalante. or has the fullnes and clarity of Lani Misalucha. . On the other hand the one Sarah Geronimo who you seem to not get is on top in the Philippines. She can probably do both Celine and Whitney songs close to the original.. And she enunciate the words both in tagalog and english well. This is why Sarah is the best singer and on top there.

It was actually the pianist who got off.. Raul Mitra was her regular Pianist.. This interview was the transition of Regine from GMA to ABS.. that's why the pianist was not aware that Regine put this song to lower key because of her reflux. But of course, if the song requires belt.. Regine delivers.. like you said it was an apology. 🙂 Truly a QUEEN

ovela here are background info in this clip 1) vice is a crazy avid fan of regine. Vice knows all of her songs even the very old ones. vice was singing along to dictate the lyrics to regine 😂 2) what vice was doing was maximizing his chance and ask regine to sing a snippet of her diff songs specially those not sang for a very long time. So the pianist and regine dont know which songs he will ask. I think regine sang about 30 diff song just on that guesting. All while sitting down!!! Its so long that They split the show into 3 airings. And she oblige singing enthusiastically. These episodes trended like a mini free concert😂 in PH at that time. 3) the pianist messed up a few songs coz he is not familiar with the whole song. Specifically the transitions. I think he only studied a portion since its supposed to be just a snippet. 4) Regine notice when its wrong and will show her facial expressions, slow down or completely stop singing. But Ogie’s reaction seems to just want to power through it and pretend nothing is wrong. vice knows the pianist messed up too and was trying to cover it up by clapping and cheering. 5) as u know regine songs are most studied in ph so many are very familiar with them specially the good parts 😉. The pianist may get heat for messing up the good parts so Ogie at the end apologize and make it seem they are the one who made the mistake. 😇 6) u are correct that regine is also known to take REVENGE when something went wrong. Be it her own fault or her team. 7) in the climax she did not take the spotlight just to shine, the song is really sang that way. She just follow it as it should be. As u may also know Regine is famous for singing exactly as it was recorded in studio if she wants to. How she sound that amazing live is mind blowing. Though on concerts she will change her take on it so we get diff versions of her own song. 8) after this show many felt the same envy as u do. For vice and the audience that day. They got a mini live concert for free. 😳 And its an intimate setting. Other clips u can see some audience freaking out while she sang some songs. 😂

Hello, Ovela :) Actually it's not the harmonization, it was the pianist who did wrong, Regine is really meticulous when it comes to notes, every Reginian knows that, she has a sharp ear when it comes to music. She stopped because the pianist is out of tune, this was her first guesting actually in GGV, after this I noticed on her next guesting in the different ABS shows she always bring Raul Mitra na as her pianist. Even though what happened they (Ogie and Regine) apologized to the audience, a true humble couple, imagine apologizing even if it's not their mistake.

I think it's the keyboardist who made the error at first. After the chorus transitioning to the bridge, Ogie was singing his part but the keybord messed up the chords and when regine came in she got confused coz the keyboardist was playing a different key. (I think this was impromptu and probably he was playing by memory or by ear). So when they were singing the harmonized part going to the key change, it was a mess. So regine stopped and jumped to the high belt part of the song to make up fot it, like you said.
