I remember seeing little Tokyo station under construction since 2018. These other two new stations are gonna be awesome too! I know it took a while to get the regional connector built, but the purple line extension is the most vital metro project. Thank you metro construction workers, urban planners, and everyone else involved with getting this amazing infrastructure built!

Big news, guys: when the Regional Connector officially opens two weeks from this Friday, and the Foothill section of what will be the former L Line links up to the 7th Street-Downtown Long Beach section, the A Line will become the longest light rail line, not only in the 30-year history of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority, but the longest in the entire world! The newly rechristened A Line will cover a record 49.5 miles of trackage from Azusa to Long Beach, thus surpassing the 42 mi Coast Tram in Belgium. I only hope the Guinness World Records will cover this historical moment.

We’ll have to see how long it lasts. The problem with long lines is that if there’s a problem somewhere on the line, it becomes difficult to properly maintain good service on the rest of the line. Things get backed up, and you need to route trains around the problem. Why should someone in Long Beach have to suffer poor train service just because there’s a train problem in Azusa? Also, if you need extra capacity on only small parts of the line, it starts becoming expensive to run all those extra trains for the whole line when they’re only needed for, say, the downtown sections.

By June 16th, a lot will change with LA Metro's A (Blue), E (Expo), and L (Gold) lines. The L Line (Gold) will no longer exist from there. The "North" L Line branch to Azusa will become the north extension of the A Line, finally accomplishing LA Metro's vision of the "Pasadena Blue Line" with the "missing link" completed. The E Line will get recolored from light blue to gold and extend to East Los Angeles on the L Line's "South" branch.

@yibranthompsonrubio I take it every Fridays and Saturdays to go to Azusa. Is so much memories the goldline train brought to me since 2019 when I first took the goldline from Chinatown station to Azusa. It all started when my ex left me in 2019 and decided to distance myself from L.A and decided to go to Azusa on the goldline train since 2019.

Outrageous taxpayers’ and wasteful spending! I bet they have some real underqualified CPAs and chartered accountants, maybe some accounting technicians from unaccredited night school auditing their spending. There are already two Metro Rail lines the red and purple lines that transport people in such a short distance. Not to mention the costs of relocating already built Little Tokyo’s Station. And the countless Metro Bus and Bike Share that travel through the radius. People can also walk. Also don’t forget DASH, other municipal bus lines that goes through the area (like too many already). Don’t forget Uber and Lyft. I don’t know if escotters are legal there such as Bird and etc but I did see some. Generally speaking, people who are too lazy to transfers probably have much more discretionary spending and know to boycott the less security public system and just pay more for privacy and etc.

@@Volkswagen-of-Deutschland you say negativity, I say reality that needs to be addressed. You seem to brush issues off and blame others who try to do something about it. So you are ok with all the filth and crime that has been increasing on metro buses and rails? If do ride and depend on public transportation everyday then safety will be your top priority. If you don’t already know crime on metro has increased by 24% just this year and the year isn’t even over. So wake up. Let me guess you are an entitled millennial that has opinions on everything you know nothing about.

@@Stereowavey would it even make a difference if it were? Homeless and thugs will find a way to infest this station to ruin the experience from law abiding respectful commuters. Only people who ride these lines are the homeless, drug addicts and thugs, the low lives that don’t contribute to society and don’t deserve to ride public transportation or social help for that matter.
