I remember watching this wholesome show growing up. I enjoyed watching this sitcom. I am glad that the actress that played Cathy turned her life around thanks to God.
@amandaathanas40273 жыл бұрын
She was the best actress on the show IMHO. She made everything else work and made the show complete. A lot of her lines were pretty profound. It makes me mad that she had to go through these awful things in her real life, before during and after she brought so much joy to others’ lives as Kathy. One of my fav episodes was when she started shining neighbors’ shoes. You cry right along with Kathy. I’m so glad Lauren is still alive and living a long life.

Ms. Chapin had turned all her negatives into positives at this point, and hopefully has fully recovered and healed from all her misfortune. Just look at that beaming smile and charisma she emitted when reminiscing about her misfortune in this interview that is already over 30 years old.

I purchased this book a hundred years ago and have never forgotten it. It is startling. At one point Lauren became a street prostitute, i believe, which is the last fate anyone could ever imagine from this 1950's 'Kitten'. In jail, a "Father Charles" came to her with helpful advice. As a teenager I was once in jail, arrested for shoplifting god know what and a "Brother Charles" came to me as well. Was it the same person? I have always wondered... As well as being a Father Knows Best fan I am also a Lauren Chapin fan. Given the contents of her book I have always had my eye on her and cared... All the best, Lauren Chapin,

She came to our City back in the 70's as a Speaker for a Christian Women's Function that my Mother was a part of. I was a 16mm Film Collector back then and I had numerous FKB Episodes along with other TV Shows from the 50's to 70's. I asked my Mother to take an episode that was mainly concerning Kathy/Kitten titled "Adopted Daughter" where Kathy believes she was adopted because her Mom didn't have any baby photos, etc of her at birth. Long Story Short She not only Autographed the Film Container but wrote me a couple of paragraphs saying that was one of her favorite episodes to do and wishing she had a Copy of it. This was a few years before VHS tapes hit the market. The films that I had were the ones that the Networks sent directly to their TV Affiliate Stations to be broadcast on your TV. I'm Sure now she has all the Episodes on DVD/Bluray and probably digitally remastered so the quality was far better than the old TV Days. I still have the signed Film today. My Mother whp's gone now told me that she could really feel that Lauren had been reborn into a real Christian and had left the Old Lauren Far Behind

I know my comment is late but might I add God that sit on the throne doesn't have a thing to do with people's mishaps there are choices and free will there are many of us going threw the trials of life sometimes in different forms because where living in a fallen society ran by the god of this age when beelzebub fell from heaven due to disobedience he couldn't run heaven so he took charge of the air 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places instead of blaming god in heaven we must blame the wickedness that started from the very beginning which first began with genesis during the time of Adam and eve when they opened the door to evil that diluted the bloodline from satan you know when I looked at the show father knows best before I knew this I saw in her a special being that would change something in hurting people it's funny how god in heaven can use what satan try to destroy that's so precious and she is that goes to show us what lucifer mean for evil the father in heaven turn around for our good to work his will in many

Lauren Chapin says she believes she “got” her manic-depressive (bipolar) disorder from her mother’s drinking when she was pregnant with her. What was known even then is that people with certain personality disorders self medicate using alcohol and/or drugs, and that mental illness is 100% heritable, meaning that it genetically runs in families. So Chapin’s mother, and probably her father, had some sort of mental illness she was trying to cope with. If you don’t have the genetic material, you’re not going to ever develop a mental illness. However, this was videotaped a long time ago (I don’t even recognize Kathy Lee Gifford, but then I never watched the show), so it may not have been common knowledge.
