So Altare has a 4th degree black belt in taekwondo and is a qualified instructor, a second degree in Kumdo a Korean martial art like Kendo that's more aggressive, knows Hapkido and Muay Thai, has veiny arms meaning he has very little fat, confident enough to walk around at 3 am, has a gun that he is permitted to carry, and now we learn he owns a bunch of sword which while most if not all are probably display pieces and therefore not sharp are still hunks of metal which he knows how to use thanks to Kumdo, yeah I agree with Shinri, I feel sorry for anyone dumb enough to try and rob Altare.

What Shinri said about the comet was correct about Heaven's Gate, but Jonestown was the incident where they... unalived themselves through the Kool Aid. And the worst part about the latter, is they forced those unwilling to drink. The entire story is just sad, really most cult stories are, but Jonestown is especially.

Every Guyanese person knows of that story, its so sad. I grew up with my mom telling us about it, the same way she learned as a kid. Bc the guy flew all these people to the middle of no where, Guyana, back when it wasnt as populated, deep in the forests. they couldnt return home when they realized they were screwed. He promised them so many good things and they and their kids all died. America was so ashamed of that. It was so horrible. and its kinda fucked up that theres a ''drink the kool-aid" saying and ppl dont know where the saying came from.

I really enjoyed this week's episode and getting to hear about what youtube content rabbit holes you guys watch. 1:16:34 Where I live in western Canada we regularly have bears visiting some neighbourhoods in the summer and autumn - though they're certainly not as impressive of a specimen as Hank the Tank. One house used to have peach trees and a young bear was once found in their yard one early evening, quite drunk from gorging on fermented peaches. And when salmon spawning season comes along you can expect to see reports of bear sightings at the river of a local trail.

This was a really fascinating episode of NTR! I was rather late into the whole youtubing scene. I think a decade ago, I was mostly using it to listen to gaming and anime OSTs and looking up FF14 raid guides, so it was fun to hear about the kind of viewing content everyone was into. My guilty pleasure for awhile was watching Animal Rescue videos! But later on I noticed multiple channels with the same videos, and I later learned that some of the pet rescue videos were staged for content, and reposted across bogus channels for views and clicks, so I became discouraged to watch anything for awhile. My youtube is exclusively Tempus these days, but this podcast has encouraged me to try exploring other content again. I'll reset my algorithm after work today! Thanks for the incredible podcast guys!

The resonance / vibrations is actually not making the noise in the wine glass; it is the air inside the wine glass that is actually making the noise. This is why the amount of water in the glass determines the pitch of the noise. I think you need to place water or salt on the rim to get noise out of it as well? (The wine glass does vibrate btw.
