I am from San Diego, I will tell you the cost of rent or mortgage is twice as much compared to TN. So it has much to do with the cost of living

Great content! x Whenever I tell fellow prospective nurses my scope of practice is going to be in the operating room, they look at me with a lot of confusion. Perhaps, it is because not many go that route (as you have stated). Are you a surgical nurse as well, Ty?

Yeah love that route

I am doing an absn program starting spring 2020 , I need some advice ty, thank you for your vids, I want to work in acute care or er type of setting, can you choose that path directly or do you have to do some type residency first?
@fitnursety33395 жыл бұрын
Shristi Silwal congrats! I’m super pumped for you. And for both of those settings, it is relatively straight forward with choosing specialties nowadays. Just look up your chosen specialty and then look to see if they have an orientation for that specialty.

Is it possible to work as a part-time nurse? Can the hours often times be flexible or adjustable?

Is it challenging to get a job fresh out of nursing school? I had a friend who said he knows plenty of nurses that are unable to find nursing jobs in MA?
@fitnursety33396 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on location. In MD, everyone who I have talked to has gotten their jobs fairly quickly!

California native here. Considering new grad pay is between 50-60 an hour (sf Bay Area) travel nursing would probably be just for the sake of travel instead of making a profit! Sounds like fun though
@fitnursety33396 жыл бұрын
So true, hope to explore that area in the future!
@thi23476 жыл бұрын
Oliver A Fajardo Hi, what places do you recommend living in that are slightly lower than SF but still in California?
@danman6666665 жыл бұрын
I would disagree because more than half of your pay is untaxed and you can make up to 95$/hour some places so it's a pretty significant jump!!

@@danman666666 nurses dont pay taxes?
@danman6666663 жыл бұрын
@@jecca2744 if you are a traveling nurse you don't pay taxes on the money that they give you for living expenses. So say you're making $100 an hour The company that you travel with might give you $50 an hour for "living expenses" if it's an expensive area and that is take-home pay or "non -taxable pay"
