Regional terms for anatomy and physiology made easy. Learn the major anatomical terms (also called regional terms) of the body for nursing terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy and physiology courses.
Quiz: www.registerednursern.com/reg...
Regional anatomical terms are used to describe various regions of the body. For example, the entire head region is referred to as the cephalic region. In medical settings, you'll probably be seeing these proper names of body parts, as these terms are often used in documentation and verbal communication.
There are two major regions of the body: the axial region and the appendicular region. These regions can be divided into other regions, such as the neck, trunk, head, and extremities. These can be further broken down into various regions.
