Keith would be proud. This was my favorite in '71. Thanks for a great job of taking me back there.

Astonishing! This should go down in the Guinesss book or something.... to play the entire composition of THICK AS A BRICK on all the virtual instruments by yourself from memory with no sheet music and not make any mistakes? A true masterpiece of performance my friend. You are an amazing talent. Kudos and accolades! May the KZbin Gods grant you a special place in Rock and Roll Heaven, Thomas Burlefinger!

Dear Thomas. I have been a fan of JT since the very day that "Thick As A Brick" was originally released in the 1970s. I have known that the whole album MUST have been recorded on a 32 channel tape recorder in those days, as the complexity of the individual instrumental lines is so vast. You have certainly done and shown great achievement in even coming close to your performance that I have just witnessed. As a composer, and a very long standing fan of JT I humbly congratulate you on your tremendous effort and splendid performance and prowess. Well done sir.

Interesting trivia: Morgan Studios were the first in England to have a 24-track recorder. Even the venerable Abbey Road only had a 16-track machine until later in the decade.

God, this is something great! I am writing, apparently, 9 years after you did this and I do not know how I could’ve miss it! I always felt John Evans had the best sounding Hammond/Leslie tone in rock and roll. Your take is as close as I’ve ever heard, and the mix is as if I’m listening to John’s mix. Your playing is so clean. Did you actually transcribe parts or learn by ear? I know there isn’t time, but I’d love to know the story of putting this together! I have so many. questions, mate! It’d be a dream to me to be able to sit in, like you did here, in John’s place, playing TaaB or A Passion Play with Tull. It certainly makes me miss me old C3… it sounds like my A-100, but because of its build, I could pile heavier and more stuff on it. Thanks, man, for doing this work.

Thought I'd stop by as I needed another full dose of this masterpiece, and it seems that my old comment in the list has disappeared. We can't have that so I must re-iterate that Thomas is my hero. He plays my favorite instruments and wish I could as well as he does but I can't get my left hand to disassociate from the right hand (or my brain to separate them) so I'm relegated to watching the King of Keyboards which fulfills my hunger for Jethro Tull up close. Wish he would play the entire catalog, but this performance was unparalleled, and I felt the need to re-state that.

Thanx a lot, man. As for left/right-independence: try "Für Elise" by Beethoven. It's different left right but kinda serial at first. Greetz 🙂!

Thomas, I know a guy here in CA who is just like you, perhaps a musical genius, a keyboard technocrat, who loves music of all kinds and can play it all, and what I'll say is, in some parallel universe there exists another Thomas Burlefinger who is huge rock star the likes of Rick Wakeman. Thanks for putting yourself out there! We hear you.
