I became an early fan of synthesized music to the point of several partially successful builds. I was following the Don Lancaster Popular Electronics series in my high school electronics class (1975) involving DIY VCOs, VCAs, VCFs, etc. Still love music and am an extra Class ham too. KK6VDR.

I would have ditched the old mechanical mellotron as well. Pretty cool. I do the Crowley thing on a Quadra. It is amazing how much hardware they carried around back in the day for really such a minimal set of sounds. The keyboards back then were a roadies nightmare. Today everyone sits there behind one or two 30lb keyboards with a Macbook.
