Hi guys. Don't let the hassle at border control and a few jobsworths ruin your experience. Having lived here for 8 years (Valencia) and travelled extensively, we can attest that Spain is a beautiful country with incredible and diverse scenery, rich culture and friendly people. Maybe head inland, away from the Costas, and possibly North through Extremadura, Asturias, Galicia - the Picos de Europa is a breathtaking area. Chin up and keep on vlogging 🙂

Spain is a wonderful country. Madrid and surrounding cities and countryside is awesome. Toledo, Caceres, Merida and Segovia are just a few examples. Controlling borders to the south is important for obvious reasons and Brits are no exception. Great vlogs. 😀

Sorry you had issues with border control. They can be a complete pain sometimes. When we lived in Gibraltar they'd sometimes hold the cars going through for hours 😳 There is a campsite further up passed Tarifa called Camping Valdevaqueros, it's a bit tired but quite reasonable with an ACSI card and the beach is across the road.

Hi you are in a wonderful area of Southern Spain... rich in history Andalusia is a beautiful part of Spain try going inland more you will see wonderful places..there is much much more to Spain but unfortunately you are missing most of it and getting a wrong impression of the areas ..it is only baron and dusty because you are only staying in those areas ....Good Vlogs👍

Although the coast of Spain is lovely some of the inland places are really worth a visit. To be honest we felt a little bit the same about Spain and we enjoyed the slower pace of Portugal much more. Glad you have decided not to skip Benidorm 😊 Looking forward to seeing you all at Christmas 💜xx

If you’re using a 2000watt generator you’ll only get just over 8amps per hour (W/V=A) so a lot of noise for very little result. Far better off with more solar!

Hi, having just left Gibraltar after living there for 3 years I can definitely say that it’s the Spanish boarder control who are difficult. They are directed by Madrid to mess people about at the boarder as a result of the history between both Spain and the UK with Gibraltar. Their hope is that the more that they act as petulant children messing people about the more pressure will be placed on the UK to gift Gibraltar back to Spain. Please, please do not think it’s Gibraltar or the Gibraltarians as they are as annoyed with the Spanish (Madrid controlled) boarder force as you are. Happy travels guys, love to watch your videos.

Sorry to hear about your border experiences, it’s unfortunate and the direct consequence of England and Wales narrowly voting for brexit and for removing everyone in the Uk and Gibraltar freedom of movement rights, including their own and their kids. Typically a third country, which is now the Uk, needs to apply for a Schengen visa to enter the zone. Part of that visa application is submitting paperwork proving who you are, return ticket, accommodation booked or invitation to stay, proof of sufficient funds during your stay in the Schengen zone, and of course the visa application fee. The Uk being a former EU member got a special exemption of not needing to make a visa application for short term stays of up to 90 days in every 180 days. However all the requirements about proof of sufficient funds, return ticket, proof of accommodation, proof of all travellers identity are still there. It is this that Spain is using from time to time to annoy people crossing the border from Gibraltar. The politics of why are well known. Hopefully a deal will soon be agreed regarding Gibraltar’s future relationship with the EU which should mean the border and hassles go away. Unless and until that happens the Gibraltar Spain border will continue to be a political football Spain likes to kick hard from time to time. Meanwhile best advice to anyone on a British passport intending to cross from Gibraltar into Spain is: make sure you have a printout of your hotel booking with you. If staying with people in Spain have a letter of invitation from them with their name, address, you names and duration of stay. If your married to a dual national with an EU passport bring a copy of your marriage certificate. You can then exercise your spouse to an EU citizen freedom of movement right.
