Here I discuss the WT02 Sky Atlas (Optimus Prime)from Wonderful Trans I had a lot of issues with this figure and some are unforgivable as a consumer. I didn't even put in the transformation segment as it was too infuriating to show on camera lol I hope you enjoy

I believe you should try MMC figures. They are way better in QC than other 3rd party companies, and they are the only ones who have dedicated themselves mostly to IDW. Haven't watched your video fully yet, but stating that you haven't bought any 3rd party for about 10 years, I think choosing this figure would make you not like 3rd party, unfortunately. It is the first time I have ever seen this company that made that prime figure.

Planet X also has other characters for IDW (and the war/fall of Cybertron games), but the quality control for MMC is much better

I agree, the face plate is completely inexcusable, especially for the price. The face fell off of mine during normal posing when I was just getting to know the figure. And I was absolutely maddened that I couldn't get the face back on. After watching a few videos, I found out... that just how it is. I didnt like the other faces anyways, so I just glues mine on. But it's absolutely and utterly ridiculous.

I could forgive the transformation some what, but the way they did the face is a manufacture defect at best. I can't believe that in 2024, someone would release a figure with that kind of issue

@@CZEN2 I haven’t even transformed mine yet. I got it at TFCon last week. I’ve had to glue a bunch of pieces of his foot so they stay together. It’s not the first 3p transformer I’ve had to glue some piece, but most of them were minor. The faceplate on this is absolutely ridiculous. I agree with your assessment at the end. If I could go back and tell myself to save the money. I would.

Yep I regret this purchase too. My back skirts were broken. Face mask don't lock in, and the front crotch piece is held on with double sided tape. Mine is never leaving his box unless I find someone that wants it 😂

It's crazy because their IDW Drift they made was great minus the transformation 😂. Also I see you like that Mecha 👀. Moshow Toys makes fantastic giant metal frame Mecha and Heat Boys made some dope TMNT Mecha

If you don't care whether your toys transform, there's not a lot of reason to buy a 3rd party figure. Hasbro / Takara won't license to any company to make transformable figures, only non-transformable. So the whole point of 3rd party (as far as I'm concerned) is to get designs that Hasbro wouldn't make. In my experience, QC on 3rd party figures can be a little hit and miss, but many of them are reasonably responsive to customer service requests (which Hasbro and Takara are not). That said, you might check out MMC Optus Pexus (or one of the 4-5 repaints they've made of the mold). Doesn't necessarily have the deco of a Flametoys, and not a lot of die-cast that I can recall, but excellent construction, terrific articulation, and smooth engineering. Also, I'm not sure the triceps is where you think it is.

Thank you for your insightful evaluation. I was unaware that Hasbro would not license transformable figures. I will carefully consider your recommendations.
