Watch as a regular customer of the MMDA impound has his car loaded onto a tow truck, yet again.
This car has been ticketed and towed more times than I can remember - highlighting the obvious need for increased penalties for repeat violators.
Illegally parked vehicles add to traffic, congestion and accidents.

There should be a law that if a vehicle was impounded 3 or more times, it will be confiscated and and cannot be returned to the owner.

For those that think it’s ridiculous that nothing can be done to e-trikes because they don’t have an internal combustion engine, you should also know that if you kill someone with a 3D printed firearm, the police won’t be able to charge you with using a firearm since it never had a serial number. The laws need to be fixed so there aren’t loopholes like this. 😂

first up, thanks for making these videos and uploading them, I hope you get proper compensation for the time and trouble. I used to live there 30 years ago. What I have noticed on most of these videos is that it takes a lot of time for the enforcers to issue the tickets. The offenders broke the law, issue the ticket and move on. Discussions on the why and how and what is irrelevant unless it is a legit emergency. The enforcers only need to know the law, identify the offence/s and issue the tickets.

like i said before. repeat offenders shouldn't be able to retrieve their vehicles in the impound lots immediately after paying the fees. add time penalties for them so that they should be more inconvenienced in retrieving their vehicles as a deterrent for them to continue ignoring the law. imagine a repeat offender discovering he couldn't retrieve his vehicle for the next month or so even if he can afford to pay the fines? he'd be forced to commute going to wherever he needs to go for the next month or so. plus he'd be forced to think about the additional cost of the wear and tear the vehicle will be accumulating by just being parked for a long time. you want people to be discouraged in disobeying the law? make them think hard before breaking them

we also need an overhaul in city planning, lack of parking for establishments is a big problem, we should take subic as a great example for parking management minimum parking space per square footage of the establishment

That red Toyota is the Philippines in a nutshell. The same problems keep happening and nobody does anything to fix the problem. The way they did the penalties for the bus lane they should do for all violations. Raise the fees after first violations with suspensions and impounds. I know the MMDA is doing the best job they can but I can't imagine how frustrating it is to see the same violators.

Hi gadget addict, sana mapuntahan niyo yung Perfecto street sa manila near puregold tayuman. Streets there are getting narrower due to owners park outside the street instead of having their own parking lot. Worst is the barangay install a portable basketball court in the middle of the street. I hope your team will address this issue.

This isnt just an issue in Manila. I live up north and people park along the sides of the main highway and block the right lanes all the time so you end up with tricycles and slow scooters in the left lane slowing down traffic.

I don't live up north but I frequently pass through the area. Napansin ko sa Pangasinan at Ilocos Sur nagpapagilid na ang mga pampasaherong tricycle sa main highway (McArthur Highway). Na-seminar yata sila. Sa La Union nakow, walang paki-alam. Shout out sa mga Ortega. Trabaho din minsan hindi lang kuha ng kuha ng 40%. Tapos mga ebike wala din paki, nasa gitna lagi kahit walking speed.

It would be a good idea for enforcers to carry some sort of a boot to deter people from wasting time waiting for tow trucks to show up. Once booted then automatically it would be impounded unless owners can pay online on the spot to save them time from going to the impound lot

If that vehicle is impounded 6 times in a year for 2500php/violation, it is the equivalent of paying for rental parking 1250php per month. If the rental for parking space in that area is 1500php/ month, he is saving 3000php in a year. It means, for him to feel the pinch of his repeated violation, his vehicle needs to be impounded at least 8 times in a year. MMDA or the concerned govt agencies should consider raising the impounding fee for repeat violators given the silent reasoning of filipinos and the goal of MMDA to clean up the streets of illegal parking. We already saw, as of MMDA don't know beforehand, that the Bus lane violation drastically reduced when the penalty was raised - why not implement the same or similar repercussion for illegal parking?

Enforcement needs to be consistent. Also need to bolster the MMDA im order to do that, create more enforcer jobs that pays for itself from all the violators. Change just never happens if violators keep getting away with violations.

This is my question, is the vehicle being towed to tumana or towed in caloocan city. It is a hefty fine if it is towed to tumana, however if its in caloocan it wont be that costly.
