Video suggestion: Guess which person is the singer of a band by just looking at a picture of the band members! Obviously won't work on too well known bands, but maybe on for example a lot of rock groups, it would be fun to see if it's possible to guess who sings just by looks!

@@Casett I mean, I think the quality of voice still matters, it just takes an immense load of luck and drive to specifically aim for being famous with a general audience. The thing is with people with talent is that they don't always want to choose to be famous and rather keep their talents to themselves, and other people with talent would also rather have certain audiences to show their talents to. Roomie's actually one of them, instead of auditioning to any sort of talent show, he just posted some sick videos of what he learnt from music school, and eventually started making videos.

I know people always watch shows like Idol or The Voice and comment “how do they keep finding amazing, unheard of singers year after year???” but these types of videos show there are so many out there!!! I’ve been a chorus teacher for about 25 years and especially when I taught in New Orleans the talent in this world is INSANE. It’s tough to impress me when almost every year I’ve taught I have at least one student who is as talented as anyone on a singing show. Some of these got me though, not gunna lie! Great compilation. The difference for me is the natural settings. I don’t like Tik Toks that are obviously produced or even that use a good microphone as weird as that may be. Twenty years ago I had a boys’ a capella group who used to sing in the bathroom down the hall for fun… just for the sound that would come into the hallway I can only imagine what big popular social media singers they had been if I had them today! Long way of saying I enjoyed this particular video very much !!! This was a good one for sure.

But there are dozens and dozens of extremely talented singers every year on all the different talent shows, plus thousands who make and post videos on KZbin and TikTok, sing on the streets,, star in local theater productions, sing in local bands or churches, do talent shows, and sing solos as the best in their school choirs. Extremely talented singers are not as rare as some might think… that is why it isn’t impossible to find “undiscovered” great singers people year after year for tv show competitions. Talent is by no means a path to success, so much more goes into it.
