Thanks for your videos of RSB. I needed the help, lol! Have a good one. 🏀

Rod, RSB is really a great game. I have the 1974-75 season replay going. And Marco is really great to deal with as well. Nice to see you putting it up here on you tube. To me it is a hidden gem.

I agree with all of your setiments, especially about Marco, who is a creator AND a huge fan of tabletop basketball in general. Like many games, RSB isn't publicized that much. I'm hoping this video (and another upcoming one) will help give RSB more attention. 1974-75 NBA is a super year. I started following my favorite player, Rick Barry, around that time while collecting Topps basketball cards. Take care. 🏀

I enjoyed this game as well. I am replaying the 1990-91 playoffs and having a great time. 1st series the Jazz swept the Suns with really accurate statistics.

That 1990-91 is a great season to replay. I'm from Portland, so please do your best to guide the Trail Blazers to the championship round this time, lol. That was the best of the 1990-1992 run of Trail Blazers teams. Great team depth with Uncle Cliffy, Ainge and even Wayne Cooper. Should've kept Drazen even though I'm a Walter Davis fan. The Greyhound (RIP) was just too old. Take care. 🏀

I’ve not seen this one demo’d before so thanks for sharing. I appreciate other approaches to the game, even if it may not be for me. Thanks for taking the time to lay it out - and the team sheets get the corner rounder treatment!😊

RSB is a different animal, Larry. I find there are two "high points" in the game. One is seeing the final score and the other is seeing how all of the stats play out. Of course, those high points would coincide if I use the electronic scoresheet briefly presented in the video. That will be another video in itself. An corner rounding segments are proudly becoming a regular occurrence (lol). Have a good one. 🏀

Really love this game because it's just different, I appreciate how it builds a narrative with each 3 minute segment. If the dice come up for a using a mod in the final 3 minute segment I do that because I feel a team could get cold or have to deal with a team that picks it up on defense in the final minutes. I just wish Marco has put out some more recent seasons out there.

Great points. Certainly, RSB is unlike other games and might not be for the tabletop board gaming traditionalist. No player cards, just team sheets. Easy to print out for games and easy to travel with. RSB might be a great "travel game" as I don't have room in my trailer for all the game cards of typical games. And I wonder when/if Marco will do a modern season. He seems to be quite and NBA historian with the ABL, ABA and old school NBA season releases. Take care. 🏀

The game is basically Downey Games’ Player of the Game Basketball on steroids.

Thanks for the input, William. Downey is another game I'll have to play one of these days. Take care. 🏀

Hey Rod, I really enjoyed the game as well when I tried it. The game to me is building the story throughout. Accurate and really different from most. Sure, You have to take your time with it but to me that's a plus.

Great comments. There are many aspects of RSB that seem backwards as you report the score THEN determine how the points (and other stats) were distributed. I'm impressed by RSB but am still getting acclimated to the "rules of order," lol. Have a good one. 🏀

Great game. Ton of seasons, PDF, easy curve, $15 seasons, can’t ask much more. Very quick to play
@redfanrod3 күн бұрын
So true, Bob. The benefit of "one sheet per team" takes away all of that card cutting and the price is definitely reasonable. It's a different breed of game with its quick play. I still am slow with stat tabulation but that could change by using the Excel spreadsheet/scoresheet. 🏀

Very good game. College version has excellent All Time sets with an eclectic range of teams included. Strongly recommend

Those all-time NCAA teams sound very interesting. I'll have to look at the RSB web site more closely for those releases. Thanks for the comment. 🏀

Finally! I was waiting for someone to appreciate the world of 1973 NBA basketball on ABC! I've been searching for NBA intros on KZbin for awhile now. That is one of the best ones because it's ultra funky. Have a good one. 🏀

A big drawback for me is the scoresheet. The boxes are too small to record the stats.
@redfanrod3 күн бұрын
I concur that the scoresheet is a bit cramped. It appears that Marco attempted to pack few too many fields on a sheet of letter sized paper. Have a good one. 🏀

Since this is really a score generator and a stat generator and not a true hands-on game, and it still takes a half hour, well, for about a half hour longer than that, I can get a full, smooth-flowing, statistically accurate game play experience with Mark Vecellio's HOOPS or Replay Basketball.
@redfanrod14 сағат бұрын
You're right in many respects, Guy. RSB has a different way of generating a basketball score. No player cards and no play action cards. However, there are many "seasonal" and "part time" basketball fans who like this streamlined approach to playing a game. Different strokes for different folks. Have a good one! 🏀

I pegged you as a "traditionalist" when it comes to tabletop sports games. The thinking in RSB is definitely "outside the box." Have a good one. 🏀

Lots of good things to build on in this game ... but in it's current state I believe it would quickly become a boring dice-rolling contest. Directly consulting varying player distribution tables, maybe by quarter, defense or type opponent, would make this a lot more interesting. To be fair bball is such a difficult game to simulate but this game is a little too pre-determined. Foul trouble, height advantages, rebounding skills, player strengths & weaknesses or strategy just not a factor.

@@redfanrodNegamco gets good stats, too, and it gets them in a lot less time.

I'm not paid to sell this game, @RayManzarekRocks. I pointed out the strengths of RSB (accurate stats, quick modes of play) as well as its perceived flaws within the video (no player cards, time consuming and sometimes arduous stat keeping following die rolls). It's ultimately up to the consumer to make the decision to buy the game. And the fish are bitin' with all of today's positive comments from game players who truly like or love Marco Walter's RSB. 🏀
@redfanrod5 күн бұрын
@@Mockingbirdrye Great points. RSB is a "quick play game," truly not designed for the typical "long play" tabletop basketball fan. RSB is certainly not for everyone. I think it's popular with the casual tabletop basketball fan who might favor tabletop baseball, football or hockey when those sports are in season. Have a good one. 🏀
