A person named Jeremy broke this battle down in the best way. "The point of the duel was to see who could make better music, since from David's point of view music is not worth it if it is dissonant and does not respect a pattern, while Gary thinks that music should be free and dissonant. At first we see how David attacks Gary with a series of notes that scale with rhythm. Gary responds with an impromptu melody that rarely repeats the same notes. Then we reached the peak of the confrontation, where both melodies were supposed to face each other. But to David's surprise, instead of confronting Gary, he makes their melodies combine to finally close with their dissonance. In other words, Gary through a dissonant melody managed to control and absorb a harmonious melody, thus creating a perfect melody. David shocked at this revealed truth can not say anything more than " thanks "

David was pretty exclusively playing notes which match and exist within the harmony of the background music. Gary was playing outside of the confines of the musical pattern being put down by everyone else and his part sounded more like a catchy melody. While david's part is far more complicated I find gary's to be way more interesting and memorable. I think that was the point.

Can you explain to me what discord is in this case
@thewizard11527 жыл бұрын
Danterik I'm not entirely sure so don't quote me on this but I believe it's music that's out of key. If you don't know, in music each series of notes is in a different key and it's a general rule of thumb to keep a song in one key, but those who are exceptionally talented at writing songs can push beyond that boundary and make it sound good without it having to be totally in key. In this case Gary.
@thetsarofall86667 жыл бұрын
Danterik discord refers to chaos or un-uniformity, ex: garys notes had constantly changeing pitch and his who song varied over time.
@Hekkle016 жыл бұрын
Discord is basically playing two notes that contact each other, because they usually don’t sound well at all. Like playing B and the C right next to it.

honestly a great piece but u can also see david questioning himself when he goes through the second stage seeing his friendly side in beginning of the episode and seeing his death made it sad all he tried to do was get rid of something he didn't believe in but the whole world was against him which makes this episodes one of the best

I feel bad for David. He didnt really do anything bad, he was just enforcing rules that he believed in. You could tell he was hurt when all of his people started cheering for Gary and I think he admitted defeat and accepted it when he said "thank you" right before he died.

80's Synth is my favorite type of music Bands like: Animotion, Depeche Mode, Yaz, Erasure, Duran Duran, Falco, Eurythmics, Ultravox, A Flock of Seagulls, Gary Numan, Tubeway Army, Alphaville, A-Ha, Missing Persons, Berlin, Devo, Rush, Van Halen, P. Lion, New Order, Taco, Gazebo, Peter Schilling, The Cure, Men Without Hats, Camouflage, Talk Talk, E.L.0., OMD, Bronski Beat, F.R. David, Visage, etc.. One song I would recommend to listen to is P. Lion "Happy Children"

+MandaloreMaul77 Only some of the bands because of being One Hit Wonder like Taco, F.R. David, and Devo. I do know a lot of other songs for these bands. I could list them all out but that be a lot to put out on this comment. Do you know all these bands on my list? Some of them are European and quite unheard of to the majority. When I do hear a 80's song for first time and like it... I then go check out that band other songs and download the ones i like.
