I'm not following with all the trash talk about this bike. What a lovely machine. Simple and stylish. Sure, a lot of off the shelf parts, but as someone who might have limited engineering or hand-tool knowledge, there are some nice personal/ aesthetic touches on there (because a bike doesn't have to be all function and no form - that's what cars are for.) Great bike, Ric!

In the US I'm seeing a resurgence in the Sportsters popularity at the local gatherings along with hugs numbers of Truimph's and other retro naked bikes. The RE 650 are going to be a huge hit here I think too. But the cool thing about the Sportster is that nothing has really changed with them- they aren't retro, but the real thing. I see less sportbike riders than in years past and as those bikes became too focused for the track, the classics are getting a 2nd look. Cool times to be a rider for sure.

Nice bike man! I have the same 48 and love it for an around town bike. Super stiff suspension. I noticed yours is still a few dots away from the softest suspension. I’m 185lb and have it on the softest setting (all the way to the top) and it’s still hard. I’d suggest at least doing that. You’ll notice it takes the edge off when you hit a bump. Mine has drag bars too. Love that sitting style. Nice.

Brother, we have very similar taste in our bikes. Harley needs to wake up and get with the matte black look. I’d love to see mini ape bars up front and tinted turn signals on rear. Now that you have more room below the fuel tank, maybe you can have a custom tank made that may be wider but not taller to help continue that low profile look. Look into adjustable suspension that can be mounted under rear versus the exposed shock. Maybe get a nice billet aluminum plate with water jet cutout design of your choice mounted to rear of sissy bar. It would appear as a black anodized plate that may even look like a shotgun spray across it.
