Hello! I need the steel wire for the pendulum suspension of the Schartz 400-day clock. Where can I buy it? Thank you

I am a beginner and have just serviced the same one but cannot regulate it. It's too fast no matter what. There is no beat error on either side. I noticed that the escape wheel just misses and goes forward several teeth. I tried to bring the pallet fork points nearer to the wheel but it still runs fast doing the same thing. Any thoughts, please?

This type of clock is never accurate.

When these clocks run down, you wind them back up, using a winding key. These clocks are still powered by a big wind-up mainspring (not visible here). And by the way, you really shouldn't try to run them for the full 400 days (or even 365 days) without rewinding. Ideally these clocks should be fully wound every month (although I wind mine every 3 months). Even when fully adjusted and regulated, these clocks are accurate to within a minute per week, give or take. Not really great timekeepers, in other words. They're more like curios or decorative items.

I don’t think these clocks are a good choice in earthquake country…
