All you saying it needs verge bushing. This movement is very small guage. It is a real fumble to work on. I've done many in my 53 years experience. The person posting the vid said it was in for specific mainspring and click failure. As we can all see it is running very well despite the verge bushing . Why invite alot of error to this project by doing work not needed.

I was given a clock with the same movement. It’s missing the pendulum and weights. Could you tell me the length of your pendulum and Mass (weight) of your weights? Thank you for any help!

Hello! I need the steel wire for the pendulum suspension of the Schartz 400-day clock. Where can I buy it? Thank you

Hi Bill. I just took in a koma like this. The “ pendulum balls “ are they different than the ones in a normal size 400 day?

Does it have the trademark for Winterhalder & Hoffmeier on it? My friend has one with a trademark that I cant find. It says AM in a fancy curved writing. Someone told him it is a Winterhalder & Hoffmeier but I cant find it in the trademark data base.

Bought one of these last weekend. Its striking is "bam-bim" --- it has gotten out of order. I guess I'll try to correct it some year.

Far too quirky for my taste. I've gotten stuck hammers, muted chimes, all within 3 weeks of owning it. Likely will return mine.

I inherited a French Clock that is beautiful but doesn't run. The Red half-circle pieces on each side of the escapement wheel are not locked down. They move to any position which is partially why the Clock doesn't run. Not sure how to secure them and get them positioned correctly?

What year was this clock made

This clearly shows how the wheel is gently nudging the fork to transfer energy to the pendulum. Thank you 🙏

Sounds like a quail and cuckoo clock but nice assembly. 1905 must have been a great year for clocks

I think the Howard Miller Wortington is in the same key
@MrTylerNicole18 ай бұрын
I think so. If you’re talking musically, yes, it’s in D major. However, a lot of the Howard Millers may have it where the A note is distorted, so it almost sounds like a D-sharp or E-flat, the lowest note. I play the piano, and the bells inside the clock almost remind me of a piano keyboard.

A question. Is it an optical illusion or is the lock a bit too deep?
@TheClockCollector3_1610 ай бұрын
Basically the reason why the clock has the is feature is that rack and snail striking was not very popular yet, if not invented by that era. You still had to correct the clock somehow if it got out of synchronization.

Weird question based on a hunch: what % of horologists like organ music?
If one goes to the "Setting" icon at the bottom of the KZbin screen and selects "speed", one can slow the excellent closeup down to the lowest setting and feel the action. Remember, the wheel is driving the pallet! not visa versa.

Thank you. I have a clock like this one, only it has three winders. My mother’s family is from Plymouth, Conn., just near the Thomaston line. Also my great grandfather worked for Sessions in Bristol.
