how about the pre-botz complex isn't that for the rhythm not the dorsal medulla (the dorsal medulla is only responsible for inhalation)

She made a mistake in the presentation. When she was illustrating the DRG and the VRG she mistakenly switched the functions of these groups 3:47. Apart from that common mistake. The presentation was excellent.

Alex, Thank you for reviewing the video and for your gracious comment. I have taken time to research the functions of DRG and VRG because the scientific literature has changed over the past few years. All the recent literature still agrees with my presentation. The DRG has inspiratory neurons and it sets the respiratory rhythm. The VRG has both inspiratory and expiratory neurons and is mainly used when forced expiration is necessary. Isn't VRG for forced inspiration and expiration? Otherwise how come is there an action for forced expiration but not for forced inspiration? Inspiration is what requires more signals as the expiration occurs as a natural process of muscles relaxation, although in forced expiration there's the use of internal intercostals and eventually abdominal muscles (strong expiration).
