Regulator adapter to change from acetylene to propane

I got shipped a regulator it looks like it was set up for an acetylene tank. So I found this fitting at my local Tractor Supply Company. It fit perfectly into the regulator. Stay tuned, I will be trying it out in my new furnace soon.

There are a few different size acetylene tanks and at least two styles of valves on them. If you do a google image search on "acetylene regulator" you'll see two different style tank fittings on those regulators. The regulator you have is for the smaller sized tanks, the regulator designed for the larger tanks is compatible with a North American standard propane tank and can used without modifications.

Hi , I cut the end of the hoses of the tiny precicion torch and converted them to insert in the adjustable regulator with gauges cuz didn’t find this gauge that have female end that fit to the male hose end, but the Oxygen end leaking, while the butane hose’s connected to cooking cylinder successfully. Could you direct me where to buy this kind of regulator with gauge for the oxygen? Thanks 🌷

Looking forward to seeing the new furnace! Is this new plumbing needed for a whole new burner, or just an update to the Kwiky?

The company that sent me the furnace send me a regulator for the furnace to hook up to the burner they sent with the furnace. I sent them the information about why their regulator didn't fit my regular propane tank so hopefully they will change it for future customers! LOL

I'm going to review the furnace with the regulator and the burner they sent with it. The burner is what you would call a Ron reil burner I believe. It has the Bell with a supply tube through the large end of the Bell and a nozzle bed sheets the gas down there burner tube. Naturally aspirated. I don't think it is as efficient a design as the Michael Porter Style burner

@@backyardmetalcasting is it one of those Devil Forge or Castmasters furnaces? Same furnaces just rebranded afaik. They are getting popular, lot of new guys skipping the diy builds in favour of those. Kinda sad IMO but I do look forward to a review from someone like you with a bit more experience.

The one I am looking at is made by a company I can't remember the name of...a auto or something close to that...but sold by David Lee who is in the group here. His company is Fastobuy.
