Trust me, you will not be disappointed. If you have been using oxyacetylene for brazing, and never tried a turbo torch, I don’t think you will use oxyacetylene for brazing again.

Use the B torch everyday, love it. I only ever turn the tank on a 1/4 to 1/2 turn, and crank the regulator. Very scary when the tank tips over, and you have to close it.
@TaRgEt0ZeRo3 жыл бұрын
Just saying bro, normally, you have to open the valve only 180 degré with your service key, like half a turn, and it's enough to feed the regulator, that way, if somethings happens, it's super easy to shut off, same with oxy-acytilene
@hvacjohnnie3 жыл бұрын
I was emphasizing that you don’t have to worry about adjusting the right amount of gas. 😄
@TaRgEt0ZeRo3 жыл бұрын
@@hvacjohnnie it's for safety mesure, the regulator don't need the B-tanks to be wide open, just to be cracked. if somethings happen, like leaking torches that caught fire, super easy to shut down. but anyways.

This torch is for brazing while the oxy/acetylene is for brazing , cutting , and welding so more capabilities with the oxy/acetylene but if you don't need all that then this turbo torch would save you money in the long run . Actually it might hook up to a propane tank thus allowing for quicker exchange of bottles though it wouldn't braze as fast. Although this torch is faster setting up than the oxy/acetylene .

First of all! I'm sure you've heard this before but you sound exactly like Tone-Loc. Second, thanks for the demonstration of that swage kit! No wonder they're so expensive. And third, thanks for the demo of that propane. It just proves the T.A. in the school that I'm going thru doesn't know much. He said that same thing that it doesn't get hot enough. Maybe the ear protection thing but no goggles needed and it burns cleaner! That's more than enough for me to get a B tank!

Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I just ordered this kit recently at the advice of an HVAC tech friend, but I’m curious about that smaller bottle, what is it called, what is the size, I ordered what he said to get which was the big 50 pound B tank- But I’ll be much rather have the smaller tank because we don’t use it that often and we have to car up into addicts onto the roof - a smaller tank would be great
@hvacjohnnie2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the small tank is the best!. And surprisingly it last a good while.
@Comm0ut Жыл бұрын
The smallest tank is the MC cylinder (named from the acetylene vehicle lighting era well over 100 years ago, the valve angle is because they were strapped to motorcycle frames!). Your local welding supply has or can get all the adapters for various cylinders. Since you already have a B tank I'd keep it then score a used larger oxygen cylinder and regulator to run larger torches. If you do more than HVAC having a healthy cutting/heating torch is great for cutting, heating and torch bending heavy stock. If you don't want the B tank your local welding supply will probably trade down to an MC cylinder and maybe credit you a few bucks.

@andrewalexander94924 жыл бұрын
I'd be pretty surprised if the ts8000 (or any air-MAPP torch) burned hotter than an Air-acetylene torch. Acetylene burns hotter than MAPP (Mapp substitute, actually, MAPP gas is no longer manufactured, all you can get now is mapp substitute.)

@@hvacjohnnie Yeah, MAPP gas hasn't been manufactured since 2008. The Mapp substitute is a similar gas, but it doesn't burn as hot as MAPP did, but it still burns hotter than propane.
