Today’s presentation is the 10th in our spring lecture series titled “Greening New England.” Each lecture has highlighted the goals and accomplishments of different organizations, agencies, non-profits and individuals who are working to make the Berkshires, Massachusetts, and New England more sustainable in every way, including economic, social, and environmental sustainability. The following presenting will continue this theme, with a lecture by Sarah LaValley.
Sarah wears many hats in western Massachusetts. Sarah is a certified planner and the assistant director with the Northampton Office of Planning and Sustainability. There, she works on conservation, preservation, and land use planning. Sarah’s work also involves her with work on Conservation Commissions and Community Preservation Commissions. Tonight, her talk will focus on how town Conservation Commissions in Massachusetts work to protect our wetlands. Sarah’s talk is called, “Regulatory Framework for Wetlands Protection in Massachusetts.”
