This is definitely larger than I would use for a one bag trip. I have a hanging REI bag from 6-8 years ago that I use for longer trips and it is extremely well designed and made.

I definitely have a luggage addiction issue and I'm working on that ;) ... but I actually only have three or so toiletry kits that I take on various trips. I have a NiteIze when it's a quick trip but something could leak.. I use the Eagle Creek "spektor" which you have featured, I do have a small and the large Sea to Summit "traveling lite" hanging toiletry kits which tend to be my go-to kits. What I love about hanging toiletry kits is they are suitable for short and long trips. In the past I've stayed one, two, and even up to 6 months in a region. By hanging one of these up it's like you've moved in! (In a good way) I actually have an IKEA hanging up in my home bathroom at the at the moment. It is a bombastic heavy clunky one but it served its purpose on several car trips and cabin stays. I love REI and REI branded products but to me these rolls just have too much material and weight. If I carried more toiletries it might be worth it but I like the simplicity of the lightweight bags I have. Great review though, good to know the features if I ever need a bag of this type.

I also love the functionality hanging toiletry kits, but the weight is always much higher than a simple pouch.

Thanks for the in-depth review. 13 oz is almost a pound.... I'm into lowering the weight on my back.

I can see this being popular with the packable home crowd
