And here I was wondering why Zoro Zaki has yet to clip Astel, Noah and Reid's win. Then he blessed us with this 50mins translation. Complete with switching POVs and everything. Edit: I swear Astel can see and hear things us normal mortals simply cannot even perceive.

for those who didnt quite catch the 2nd match, let me break it done to you. during scrims(practice matches) teams make a area known as their landmark or landing spot and most competitors kinda respect other competitor's land spot so they avoid conflict like early game eliminations. players do this not only in the jp apex scene but also in the west where people like albralelie explain on his stream

Thank you for this massive sub as always! You know I expected them to place high but I didn't expect them to take the win so I'm really happy they won. But it was also sad that a lot of people flocked to yukio's stream to hate him for dropping with Astel's team even though there are no rules that say otherwise. It was very annoying.
@Pepe-dq2ib3 жыл бұрын
It was still a douche move. Even pros RARELY do that unless they have no chance of winning and have beef with a winning team. They'll drop on the winning team, where they are most vulnerable and potentially ruin their tournament for keks.

This is just my comment on their performance as a team. I support Astel-san and Kurumi-san a lot and this is by no means an attack on them. I know not everyone here is all for the competitive aspect of Apex and simply want to see their oshi succeed, but fact of the matter is there is no real platform for such a niche aspect of an already niche interest (Competitive VTuber showmatches). Until the end I felt the team had a very distant atmosphere and comms weren't good when things got heated. They had okay rotations but their spacing and movement was decent (at best) during fights. Astel-san always felt like he was a bit too hyper-aggressive for the team that he ends up on a different page, on the other side of the dome in many cases (Game 3). This was also evident during his game in the ShibuHal custom with Bosna-san and Miyako-san. He commits too fast for his team, and their spacing gets out of whack. Props to Reid-san for being able to support him for as much as he did. Putting Astel-san on a mobility character is a bit dangerous, especially for someone who has limited scrim/tournament experience especially on this level. This kind of behaviour often leaves teams to rat, as its either the 1-man who committed gets downed, or the other 2 person who tries to cover are rushed to take a fight they are not in position for. Comms were again kind of lacking, especially in the emotion department. Emotions can carry and destroy comms. In the final game, I was wondering why Noah wasn't more frantically calling for help or cover. You can see in Astel/Reid-san's POV they were not rushing over immediately. Had they been there earlier, Noah wouldn't have been downed. Its nice that Astel-san clutched it, but its always about putting yourself in a situation to win, rather than winning losing situations. In their 20 kill game from the scrims, Noah-san was often in a far position and almost got caught out (Referring to their fight against Akito/Hendy team). Again, she didn't really call for cover/help. It was mostly Astel-san and Reid-san fortunately firing at their backlines, and being in the right position that they were able to cover for Noah-san and take that team down. Then finally in that 20 kill game both Noah-san and Astel-san went to finish of two different teams in opposite directions when they were not being forced to push. Neither of them called out they were committing to their push. The other person might have just thought they were calling out info, rather than actually committing to the kill. Also some jump pad calls weren't properly called. A lot of the orders were suggestive rather than assertive, which can cause some disarray. Though this might be natural as Astel-san has never played with either player before, and all of them are of Master rank so there's not a definite "best player" that is usually relegated as the leader (unlike CR Cup which usually has 1 pred, or really good Master like Alph-san). At times like this is when someone really needs to stand-out and put their foot down to become the leader. Being decisive as a leader is very important. Giving information to make such decisive actions also help these leaders.
@Kensuke09873 жыл бұрын
I think this is one of those teams where someone has to appoint/nominate someone as the leader. Astel is a newcomer to the group, so he can't exactly assert himself even if he has confidence in his leadership. Any of the original 3 members, Bora, Noah, and Reid usually don't take full charge alone at this level of play. It's not about standing out, but I feel that no one is confident enough to lead the team, nor do they would be so shameless shove all the leadership responsibility to one person. Perhaps, this is one of the times where having a coach would have been really helpful.
