Gotta say, Megan IS Catherine to me. Most actors, if you pay really close attention, you can pick up small flickers of moments where you can tell it's not authentic. With her, none. Zero. Nothing whatsoever. It's even more impressive because when actors speak with an accent different from their own, again, if you pay really close attention, you can hear it from time to time. She sounds like she's supposed to speak that way. I miss this show so much!

Toby regbo has such a beautiful soul. When you look into eyes you can see honesty and truth. His laughter is contagious and his smile is out of this world. He is a fantastic actor and anyone who acts with him is so very lucky. Not only getting the opportunity to do so, but being in his presence. His light shines through to many people and the cast he is around. I bet he is funny even off camera. He's inspired me to go to acting school. He's inspired me to be more open about things. She stars in a show plus like 5 movies based in Prince Edward Island, Canada which, is based on the Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery whose book was reviewed by Mark Twain. If you go to Charlottetown, PEI, Canada you will see people walking around in period costumes. It is amazing! It has Megan Follows as a young girl into her 20s I think. I started watching Reign because I found out that Megan Follows was playing the amazing Queen Catherine.

As an historian with a very good knowledge of the period and its events I was very sceptical at how loose the connexion to reality was. Hover, I found the characters so engaging an loved the plot. I was very soon hooked and have watched the whole series. Loved the costumes even though they were nothing like the period especially the men in leather trousers, much better than the short hose. The only ones I didn't care for were the ones that looked like nineteen twenties' flappers, too sloppy But a brilliant show, thank you so much, it kept me entertained for hours.

Had to stop watching reign for a little bit after king francis (toby) died. I can’t take it, especially after the what I thought “he will live” part because he was revived. I thought it’s gonna be at least a happy ending 😂 I know he really died after their one year of marriage (in real life) but it’s just heartbreaking with this series esp. when you got used to them being together all the time 😪 I just wish that they’d show francis again after mary’s death being reunited together after a long wait together. At least make it a happy ending because it’s really heartbreaking 😂 I just wanna watch it over again and stop right before the episode where francis will die and just rewatch it over and over again 😂 skipping the death part

the information is available on wikipedia. elizabeth kept her imprisoned for 20 years because she had a strong claim to the throne and the catholic nobles kept trying to free her and kill elizabeth to make mary queen. finally she was accused of being involved in the "babington plot" with "the casket papers" which appeared to make her look guilty in taking an active role in an attempt on elizabeth. elizabeth signed her death warrant, though she didn't want to because she believed in god appointing kings and queens and did not want to be responsible for the death of a fellow queen. she tried to retrieve the warrant, but the privy council acted on it before she could and had her beheaded. it was mary's son by lord darnley (james) that would go on to inherit the throne from elizabeth, uniting scotland and england.

shona lisa mary attempts to retake her country twice. Both attempts fail. She's blamed for marrying Bothwell. So she flees to England but Elizabeth didn't trust her and kept her locked up 20 years. The Babbington Plot was enough evidence to execute her although there's still many who believe that Elizabeth has one of Mary's old ladies forge the queens handwriting. Then the execution and her son wrestling with rescuing her was portrayed pretty accurately by the show. Many who witnessed her execution felt that Mary was a very humble and deeply wronged individual

What we don't see, simply bc the show was canceled was that Bothwell and Mary are both acquitted from Darnley's murder. Then Bothwell "kidnaps" and "rapes" Mary. She loses public face when she choses to marry him instead of execute him (personally she probably loved him but politically he was bad news). She gets pregnant with twins and attempts to take her country out of the hands and influence of Knox. She fails both times and flees to England. At some point she miscarries the twins. But many in England still see Mary as the rightful, Catholic monarch to the throne and keep trying to put Mary on the English throne. Elizabeth is able to maintain all of the uprisings but obviously tensions are rising every where. Elizabeth can't trust Mary and she can't allow her to live nor can she allow Mary to go free. The Babbington Plot (Elizabeth's "proof" that Mary schemed with the Catholics to take Elizabeths life) is probably one of the most debated historical events ever. There's equal chance that it was real and forged. Whatever you personally believe it eventually led to Mary's execution. Elizabeth allows the execution to happen in such a way that she as monarch can deny giving the direct orders to kill her cousin, which is significant bc if she had given the order she would be even more hated by all of the predominantely male and exclusively catholic monarchs of europe. Regardless of moral scruples Elizabeth shows herself to be the more seasoned statesman.
