Durian is the king of fruit, Mangosteen is the queen of fruit.
As a Thai, I am glad that you started liking durian. I also love it. Actually, you should eat mangosteen afterwards. It helps because durian is “hot” fruit and mangosteen is “cool” fruit. One thing, don’t eat durian with alcohol - it’s hot + hot, which is not good for your body.

Thank you kha😊🙏 I wish I could eat mongosteen but there are no mongosteen at that time 🥲
The fact that this durian is better than last year because you order "outside crispy and ripe inside" which is hard to get if you buy from the market. All fruits in such buffet tour are fresh as it is prepared daily from the orchard. In fact, all fruits on such buffet orchard tour are the best there is and not everyone can have such a good opportunity to do so. I am a little envious. BTW, durian and sticky rice dish always uses ripe durian so that it is soft and can go well with sticky rice for the acquired Thai taste. Thais, having tasted durian for so many years, find such ripe durian with sticky rice as good combination.
you did the right thing. many first time eaters don't like durian because they tried very ripe durian. durian is like a cheese. it is an acquired taste. once you like it, you will soon find those very ripe durians are not that smell any more, and i find that for some varieties of durian the taste is much better when fully ripe.

One of the best one is from Nonthaburi. I saw some of them go upto 5000 baht or around 145 USDollar for one whole fruit.
please come to eat Salika in Phangnga, now it is season. I think it is the best durian I ever eat. This kind of Durian Salika is very famous durian in southern of Thailand and you can find in Phangnga only.
There are many kinds of Durian in Thailand. Some have a strong smell, so please try Mon Thong which the smell is lighter.

You may try Khan Yao (ก้านยาว) and Kra Jibb (กระจิบ). Both have very mild smell and we can find both in Rayong.

@@ouiouiyyy4141 The best one is Khan Yao but I recommend MonThong for Japanese as it is hardly to find out. In Thailand, venders also cheat customers by saying Chanee is MonThong to gain higher profit. This is bad so foreigners cannot handle the strong smell of it.
