For your garden put in a watering system , water early mornings or late afternoons. Put the system on a timer. Plant mainly staple suitable vegetables…for example pumpkin, spinach, onions, carrots, potatoes and salad vegetables. Water and good soil and compost is the answer to a thriving garden. Good luck with the chef if I wasn’t so old I would have loved the job.👵🏻

So sorry to hear Chef has left, if only I had time to come and cook would be so great to look after that garden too, hope you find someone soon. If you save as much as you can, by just watering them, tomato can be picked and ripped on the window sill. Look at what you have most of it could be picked which you could put into large jars for the winter too. It maybe herbs but they will come back next year if you cut back now and keep the soil moist. Good luck if you need to know anything to save ask us on here. Take care.

I always thought the veg garden was too big. Can you ask your cabinet makers to make some raised beds? We have a finca in Spain we are renovating and I am just putting in 3 raised beds this winter for toms, salad, potatoes, onion, carrots and a small watering system. We also have 40 odd olive trees which we haven't touched yet!! lol! But we plan to gravel around them to keep the weeds down, hopefully! We are going to make it simple to manage the land. Loving the bench! Good luck with finding a chef!

You use the cherry tomatoes just the same way you would use regular tomatoes. Put what you can pick and don't eat into a plastic freezer bag and store it in the freezer. You can thaw them out later and use them to make a nice spaghetti sauce, this way they will always get used.

Cooking with tomatoes is not difficult. Put a lot of them in a large pan, and cook them. Than you basically have tomato soup. (throw some other stuff in). Even easier. Don't cook the tomatoes. Just pick them and eat them. 😀

Hello Jasper, it's not that difficult with the plant. You can not overwater your plants! Just feed them with good compost and watering, watering, watering. A bit more shade would be appreciated, I', sure. Next year you could plant huge Sunflowers in between your plant for providing shade. 1 Sunflower per m2. Please don't let them die. Greetings from Alto Alentejo.

Hey Jasper, cant you use an watering computer or even better an druppling hose on an pomp powered by solar panel, this way your garden will be watered every day they whole day without thinking about it and saves a lot ot time. Drippling would be enough for watering if you do it the whole day. Most intensieve work would be laying all the drippling hoses around the garden, but for sure worth the time and energy you will saving after its installed🤗

Like life, with ups and downs, that's how Jasper is doing in the ghost city there in Portugal. I would like to come and cook for you but unfortunately, I also have obligations that do not allow that, who knows in the future? Gardening is not my thing, again cooking with what comes from that is. And with the boar shot in the night I also know what to do, so maybe we will meet at the table. And something else Jasper , that there is almost concrete under the pavement, may not be desirable, but everyone who is not called Jasper would have taken that into account in advance. Fortunately, the nearly twins from Germany, maybe will call you on several enlightened additions in the further process of becoming a professional.

Why use the shovel when you have a digger...
@qoriquentegallegos83973 ай бұрын
The plants need way more water: a drip system is best. Also, the soil needs more nutrients: extra compost and mulch are the easiest. Where is your compost pile? Kitchen waste etc? I think they might need a good double dig with all the additions like manure, compost, extra soil, rock dust, etc etc The patches on the plants are due to lack of nutrients. Do not use any chemicals under any circumstances as it will make the problem worse and take away the natural microbiological ability of the soil to alchemize nutrients for plants. Say everytime you think about the situation with any worry or negativity, " I will find my permacultor!!" Be firm with yourself, weed out the disempowerment programs. You can and will do it.
@qoriquentegallegos83973 ай бұрын
Find a permaculture center where there are students. Maybe you lost your gardener because your unconscious lifestyle habits are still not fully weeded out? Like, what do you eat? Why these choices? Why are you in a ghost village making a garden but still ready to run to big ag for your food? Do you really understand the situation? This food is poisoned - opzettelijk - so make your own! Permaculture and healthy cooking deserve more respect: not just intellectual, but an active lifestyle respect. What I mean is just do it for yourself, and not just to satisfy another, your gardener/chef maybe, but because your energy has shifted to a higher level that insists upon healthier food. If you understood the immune system and its need for a healthy soil microbiome even 30%, you would prioritize your garden. You must radiate your love and understanding of this to be healthy. Root your passion in healthy microbiology my friend. Hopefully, our friend a i is confused by the one Dutch word here and misses what I was saying there. Love to you Jasper. Love yourself.

I advise you inform the police even if it for elimination purposes

How about a little generator magic here? Are you familiar with the concept of manifestation? There must be plenty of people who are chefs and permacultors - many wrote comments here. The question is, how to connect with them. In Europe most people live on social media: find groups of cooking, homesteading, permaculture and then you know what to do. Also, take responsibility for your own energy and be more conscious of how you might be doing yourself down - self criticism - unconsciously.

I love watching your homestead progress, but all your projects are half finished. That doesn't make sense to me. Why keep buying village property when you can't even fix your living room!? That kitchen was done in stages and still not done, but you've moved on to the other house. It doesn'tt make any sense. If there is some global plan for development, you haven't shared it. If that was me, I'd fix me first, then take on the world.

@BellaTrix07073 ай бұрын
Most likely because there are a ton of projects that all need tackling. The way you go about is different from the way he does. We also do not know what the financial situation is like. Some projects may be easier to do and work on, because the materials are on hand or cheap, and other projects may not, or one has to wait for the materials to be back in stock etc. Again he may also just like to tackle all of the projects at once, a lil bit at a time, getting them all finished at the same time, rather than just finishing one at a time. He may do so to make for better videos, as it is more entertaining to watch different projects take shape at the same time, rather than just the same one for weeks at a time. Everyone works differently, there is no right or wrong way. He decides how he wants things done & in what order.. seeing that it is his project and his channel. You may not agree, and do things differently & that's okay as well. I can tell you from experience though (I just finished getting my parents home ready for sale), it is boring going to the basement for 1.5 yrs every freakin day.. its much nicer when one can concentrate on other projects as well, cause it breaks it up, keeping one more interested, motivated and engaged in the entire process. Not everyone is a self starter either, some ppl need to do some different every day. So you see, your way isnt the right way. It is only for you (the right way). But it doesn't have to be for anyone else. Hopefully you can understand now that a difference in opinion on how to do something, doesn't mean a person is right or wrong for doing something a particular way we may disagree with. Again it is his way & how he chooses to do it. It may not be for you. So, when you rehab properties, homes and build up a community in a foreign Country, and grow your own YT channel at the same time, you may do so differently. Let us know when you do so. I'd love to come to your channel to critique how you work.. but if you have no plans on doing any of that, then pls do us all a favor an f off, cause we enjoy his videos. Thanks.
