Hi Kalle... I'm a 66 year old woman with 2 grown kids and never comment on people's shares, especially when the topic is so tender, but listening to you share your missing of Christine, my throat and chest ached. I felt heartsick for you both. In my experience, putting your partner first is the best way to assure happy, well adjusted children. If your heart is aching from missing Christine, they will feel it and in some way compensate for your unmet longings. They are tiny antenna, so sensitive and receptive of unexpress or unmet longings. They will take on these emotions and make them their own. It will not promote peace and well being for any of you. I admire your desire to give August your best but honestly, Christine and you are the ones who need each others best ...then August will experience the overflow of tenderness and warmth between his Mama and Daddy. Sending you so much love and desire for your best life ...all of you.

Hi Kalle, I live in Scotland and I am a retired Police Dog Handler (K9). This is a tip for dealing with the dogs casting hair. In Scotland we have a thing called a Chamois Leather that is used for cleaning glass and such things but it is one of the best things for dealing with casting dogs. If you have the same thing in Sweden all you have to do is wet the chamois leather, squeeze the excess water from it and then give the dogs a thorough massage with the chamois leather but always do it outside as the amount of loose hair coming from the dogs will be unbelievable. I used this technique on my rough coated German Shepherd Dogs to great effect and the dogs love the rough massage. I hope this helps.

having a child does change your relationship in ways you didnt even imagine. im so glad you talked with christine about this as it sounds like she might have been feeling similar emotions. remember to make time for just the two of you. when he sleeps, or playing by himself for a few minutes. my husband will "steal" little moments with me and dont you know, i love it! having a commited relationship takes work, but it is worthwhile! august will see how much you love each other and it will shape the kind of man he will become. ❤

I can't believe August has grown so much and so beautiful. No family runs perfectly balanced all the time. I was 22 had 3 girls under 3 my husband at work of course. No car no other family no friends. We all survived believe it or not. I'll be 72 in a fortnight. You all doing fine.❤❤❤❤

Adding your handprints to your fireplace is so sweet! What a nice forever memory! Kudos to fixing your frozen pipe! A good habit to get into when the temps drop is to leave your below sink doors open, so the heat in the house can warm that area. Kalle, you are such a sensitive sweet soul, and it is understandable that you get overwhelmed. Please don’t be so hard on yourself. Christine is your perfect partner, and loves you dearly. She wanted to know what you were upset about so she could help you feel better…..the same you would do for her. Spending time with August at this stage of his little life is time you will never regret….or get back. Raising children is the hardest most rewarding job you will ever have. Christine surely misses your time together, too, so maybe you can “schedule” a time you can be together….just the two of you. It doesn’t need to be for hours, just some time together that you can look forward to. Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻. P.S. The living room and kitchen fireplaces look beautiful!

I love this video. Placing your handprints on the fireplace will be something you can and will look on in the future with such memories. We have done this with our children, leaving a memory everywhere we have lived. And don’t worry about feeling overwhelmed and feeling frustrated. Everyone faces this as they go thru parenthood. Whether it be when you are a new parent, to raising teenagers, to adult children. It is a sign of how much you love Christine and August. You are doing an amazing job, as is Christine. Just as you learned, during the rough days. If you can still come together, talk, and support each other, you will both grow even stronger as a couple and parents. Always remember, never go to sleep without saying “I love you”. And each morning is always fresh, with no mistakes in it. A clean slate. Keep doing what you both are doing, you got this. Thank you for all the videos, the inspiration, and the sharing of your beautiful family.

You have a heart of gold and it shines in everything you do. I will definitely be buying one of your prints. Take care of those ears. I've been living in the mountains off grid for over 10 yrs. I make stupid mistakes all the time. If it makes you feel any better, my whole outhouse caught on fire. Because of my stupidity. Put warm ashes too close to it. Can't tell you how lucky I was that it didn't start the forest on fire or my cabin. Thank you for all you do!! Much love to you, Christine and sweet August ❤

As a new parent as well I can totally empathize with your feelings. Our daughter is almost 2 and we still struggle finding balance. I’m due with our next daughter in a month and we know all too well how challenging it can be. I imagine juggling two kids will be even more challenging. We’re so thankful for our growing family, but it’s so important to be honest about the challenges and tough feelings as well. I really miss my partner too. We just keep telling each other we know we’re on the same team and there’s a huge bond in that even if we feel like we’re passing ships in the night for this season.

Your feelings are "normal" / common. Du ar inte ensam. Sometimes I just had to cry while I was getting things done... balancing work, spending time with my kids and their homework while cooking dinner at the same time; and the trying to keep up the household chores. Yes, I cried many times in the shower but I knew I had no choice but go through with the "motions" of getting done what needed to get done. In all of this, I had to remember not to take out my frustration on my kids. I had find a place to put all my anxieties and worries aside and to put on a strong, calm and reassurance for my kids. I get it!. Slighlty different situations but similar struggle to balance everything. Communications with Christine and you supporting each other will get you though these times. I had no one. You have each other. Always keep true the relationship you have.

From the plumbing situation, to working through emotions, to frostbite, none of these things are learned in a classroom. Critical thinking life skills are learned by living life and wanting to learn and grow. And you are doing very well. Always remember that we can't be on top of our game at all of the hats we wear 100% of the time. I've read that rubbing snow on frostbite is actually the best way to begin the thaw and healing. I hope you are better. The fireplace and stove look great, and the new photos are amazing.

Suppressing feelings is not healthy. Keep communicating. You have achieved so much in what is really a small amount of time. Deep breathe regularly and keep saying - this too will pass. One day at a time. You are only human. Don't let negativity take hold. Don't beat yourself up. Practice daily gratitude for all that is so good in your life. You are doing the best you can. You are doing better than so many people. No regrets, just experiences and lessons to learn. Perfection is subjective. ❤️❤️❤️

Kalle, try to remember that while August is this young it’s only temporary, then you will have more time with Christine again. I have a funny situation and similar just now. We have a four year old husky and six cats, six chickens also so it’s a lot of work but as we have no children they are considered to be our precious family. Well, our husky Dakota is too rough to play with the cats and he gets frustrated when he sees them playing with one another and he can’t join in. We decided to get another husky, a puppy just nine weeks old. We have had her for exactly one week and we are exhausted! She requires so much care and attention it’s almost like having a child so we have to take turns babysitting in order to get things done or have a little peace in between. So yes, I understand completely. You have a lot on your plate and are naturally overwhelmed. It’s good to talk things out….one day, hopefully soon, everything will fall into place and become easier. By the way, your house is looking wonderful, and I love the handprints! 🌲❤️🌲

When I was 14 I walked to my school to a basketball game. I was a cheerleader, so I was going to perform. And, being 14, I wanted to be cute and wearing a hat to mess up my feathered short hair was NOT cute (this was 1984). The issue was, this was northern Iowa and the windchill was -75 F.(-59c) it was bitter cold with a STRONG wind and I had no hat and I was wearing dangling metal earrings. It was a short walk to the school, but I was out bare-headed probably 15-20 minutes. It took longer to try to brace myself with the wind on the icy sidewalks. When I got to school, my ears were frozen. I couldn't move the lobes and then the BURNING sensation began and my ears got red and the thaw was PAINFUL. I didn't have it as bad as you have had it because my ears didn't peal or swell (that I'm aware of ), but to this day, over 40 years later, my ears are sensitive to the cold. It can be 50F (10C) degrees outside and I will need to wear a hat or ear muff to protect my ears. For both of us, it was stupidity! I hope you don't have long-lasting effects from the incident, but I'll be surprised if you don' have some cold sensitivity going forward.
