Love how you describe how just unsympathetic he is because he doesn't have something understandable backing him up, and for the description of ways to manage him in Thracia, those shenanigans sound incredibly fun.

Reinhardt was infamously powerful in FEH about a year after the game's launch, and that combined with his equally notorious art with a stern expression and tiny hands made him a target of funny edits, the most famous of which being that smile which is pasted onto his face@@aureliodeprimus8018

It's because of Reinhardt being strong, talented and "honorable" that makes him so pathetic by inaction, he wasn't lacking by might nor reason, he wasn't blinded to not see the atrocities committed but he still didn't act on it because of his mindset which in turn self prophecyed his own end. There is one word i would choose to explain Reinhardt: (Soldier), he is the ideal soldier strong, talented and blindly loyal to its higher ups. A soldier can see the pain and suffering that they cause, a soldier knows when they get unfairly treated but still continue by their fixation to authority, loyalty or patriotism.

Reinhardt was a true soldier who just happened to make his stand on the wrong side, not because of his sense of justice nor his opinion but his unyielding will to die where he stands.

Great video. I do hope at if we do get a echoes of 776 they don't ruin the moment by doing something like having him recruitable because of his popularity
@yobin37112 жыл бұрын
The upsetting thing is that there is precedent for that, what with New Mystery making Michalis recruitable.

I like to think that Ishtore was not that much of an accomplice to the empire, some villagers described him as a good person, and he was against the child hunts, so maybe he did something against them with the power he had similar to Arvis and Ishtar. Still, that's probably just headcannon at the end of the day.

Reinhardt? Nah, the best camus in Jugdral is Riddel, the chapter 10 palette swapped guy. He rocks
@hridayam00042 жыл бұрын
If I am not wrong Riddel doesn't use his full movement.. It's a cool detail since he is doing things he do reluctantly
@aleelrecopilador70211 ай бұрын
It doesn't matter if he is very strong, talented, or an honorable man. It doesn't take away from the fact that he doesn't have the courage to confront the empire for its crimes. Unlike his sister, who made the decision to fight despite everything. And it also applies to the other members of Leif's army, who also fight regardless of the risk.

He's also my favourite boss fight for many of the reasons you mentioned. Also the 19 leadership stars kind of making him and his army even more imposing and crossing the bridge normally has the bridge getting cut off behind you so you're stuck there less room to maneuver.

Silver Will is actually a pretty good choice for Reinhardt, being how strong both Loewe and him are.

So my experience with him was funny because my Asbel hit a blizzard (the one you can get from capturing in chapter 21 if i recall) and then captured him because I didn’t want to waste time trying to hit him, and i think its funny that you can capture and release this guy, sparring him, and he STILL DIES in the epilogue, granted, that goes for a lot of characters
@femspaint29112 жыл бұрын

On that last point you made, a similar character would be Hetzel from the Tellius games. He's kind-hearted and disagrees with most of the Senate's actions, but he's still complacent and a coward, so when you actually fight him, he's well aware that he's on the wrong side but too afraid of opposing his peers and losing his prestige, so he just sits there and cries about how it's too late for him to repent. Even Rafiel can't find anything to say to him, he's so disgusted. BTW, thanks to you, Kakyoin is now my headcanon name for Salem.
@paulman34340 Жыл бұрын
Yep, it's why I figured Lekain had the coward with him at all times! Even HE knew that Hetzel could have foiled him at any point if he wasn't a blistering coward, likely was another "Ego Booster" for the vile Duke among many of them (What I do like about Lekain, is he was a "Jiol" who got ALOT further then what they usually get in the games when that archetype came up! Ultimtely as Ike pretty much told him if you have them fight is the fact he was STILL a pawn in the end! The fact Lehran only let him live instead of killing him is likely because he was too busy in "cosmic level murder-suicide" that he was kept around simply because he was just another backup if his other choices to awaken Ashera didn't pan out such as Ashnard, which as Radiant Dawn showed, he ended up being as a large amount of the conflict he needed happened because of Lekain being opportunistic bastard! Basically if not for Yune protecting your collective army at the end of Part 3, he would have died a statue like the rest of those unlucky to NOT be a Branded. Effectively he knew nothing and Lehran let him live because if everything worked out, he'd be killed along with the rest. Yune and keeping Micaiah alive though ended up beign a spanner in the works and even then Lehran was ALWAYS by the goddess side, while his ass was just a "Floor Boss" and the FIRST FLOOR BOSS at that!) Frankly I agreed with everyone's responses to Hetzel's cowardice! Especially the ones where he tried to justify himself (compared it to Orson's "Vs." dialogue with everyone who knew him! I was with Ephraim when he didn't care for Orson's reason, and his doom & gloom in their dialogue, felt at that point him being a broken pedestal to Ephraim was complete, that display made it clear the man he knew died a LONG time ago and all that was left was a pathetic blackguard of a coward wearing his face! My headcanon with that one was thinking of the voice I gave Ephraim saying his dialogue in the coldest, restrained angry, finally done with this shit manner possible)

I wonder if the remakes will give him motivations. On one hand, would be interesting to see what drove him (if it's not just wanting some Ishtar buttox), on the other hand it would just turn him into a Camus. I just hope he's either not recruitable or his recruitment is as bullshit as Sephiran's, otherwise his story loses a ton of gravitas.
@paulman34340 Жыл бұрын
Yeah this I agree with, I'm not a fan of recruiting the "Camus" in thier game (Sephiran was like the first recruitable "Gharnef" in the series! Man was the first for everything, would said Light Magic, but that depends on if you see Riev from Sacred Stones as a Gharnef though Veld gave us a new sub category of a Gharnef who's more a "sidekick" of the Gharnef as Lyon was a mix of Mystery/New Mystery Hardin and Gharnef though unwilling as you might as well say the MEDEUS of Sacred Stones was the Gharnef simply after possessing Lyon) Plus we already have like two Reinhardts in 776 anyway, one of them being his LITTLE SISTER! Don't think we need him being removed from his enemy only status! Though I would like it if he got abit more screen time (not completely taking over, but at least more of it, especially if you kept Olwin alive up to the final battle with him). I think anything extra would be more focusing on his relationship with Olwin his sister over Ishtar (though keep it as it is relevent abit) and his feelings on the "just following orders" unlike Camus who stayed loyal to his kingdom no matter what. I'd love to see Reinhardt be a good "deconstruction" of the Camus trope (though I think that would be getting too close to Ishtar as she couldn't stop herself from concluding that staying loyal to her family and Julius wasn't enough to justify still fighting against Seliph and his army, even when she tried to steel her heart, especially if she fights Tine where she attempted to shame her for siding against her family like her mother did! She knew she had NO justification and understood WHY Tine defected! She and her brother's kindness to her did NOT make up for the hell their mother Hilda put her through! Child of the "Family Disgrace" wasn't good enough! By that point she knew she was on the wrong side! I'm loving how the FE games aren't sugercoating the Camus/Ishtars lately! Especially Catherine in 3H ESPECIALLY in Crimson Flower! Her support with Ingrid made it clear she took her loyalty and oaths as a Knight for Rhea VERY seriously, warning her that as a Knight like she dreamed, she might have to do things she would never personally wish to do. Catherine also making clear while she might "waver or question" ultimently she chose to follow her orders and hope it was truly for the best! It's why she gets upset if she fights Byleth making clear if she knew they'd turn on Rhea she would have killed them then and there in the first meeting, and believing she and Shamir were "doomed" to never understand each other if you have her on your side! TvTropes literally considered the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus to be an entire KINGDOM of Camus in Crimson Flower when it comes in regards to STILL working with Rhea...especially when she burns their capital the very moment she confirmed Dimitri's death in the HOPE that somehow it will inconvience your army at worst and at best it will somehow killed Edelgard and/or Byleth! The surviving Faerghus character AND FUCKING GILBERT prioritize killing your army then I don't know "RESCUING THEIR OWN CITIZENS CAUSE THE CRAZY FEMALE DRAGON POPE JUST SET THEIR CAPTIAL ON FIRE)
@calamitoso0066 Жыл бұрын
I say it depends in if you are a blind idiot like all camus like characters or you are forced at gunpoint to work for the villian while at the same time giving a chance to the good guys to fight back like the actual Camus. P.D: 13:17 I totally agree with that statement.

I don’t understand why Ishtar is so popular. Like, yes, she helped rescue some kids, but she also dated the antichrist, knew he was evil, and still fought alongside him to her death.

I think what can really be improved is showing Julius and Ishtar before the ritual in a remake. Since there is a version of her that defies Julius in FEH, IS can make that into the remake too. Meanwhile FE Sacred Stones shows great moments between Eirika and Lyon from the get go, and we know how understanding and kindhearted he was before the experiment.

Julius being a jealous brat is just another bit Thracia does to blatantly ignore fe 4's characterization. He literally sent her to her death for fun. Suddenly now he's jealous now that Reinhardt this cool new character shows up. It's just lazy writing for a sequel.
@mcihay246 Жыл бұрын
I dunno, if they're written by the same person, I think they know their own character better than you do. Julius cares about Ishtar, to what extent however we don't know. Whether it's to rescue her after her defeat in the District of Manster, actually makes the effort to gaslight her by making it sound okay to hunt children to indoctrinate them via a fight to the death, and actively suggests if she'd like to take part in killing a member of the very army that killed her brother and father. All these times, he made sure he was with her at all times. Making sure she's safe. Whether out of love, or just liking her as a useful tool, again we don't exactly know. So in that way... Julius isn't necessarily jealous, but he can also be threatened by Reinhardt's closeness to Ishtar. A person Ishtar could run to if she were to ever escape his grasp. Especially when she questions his actions... Which can be shown as a sign of disobedience. Julius and Ishtar's relationship is actually a typical one involving an emotionally abusive boyfriend who wants what's theirs for themselves, and has the capability to gaslight their significant other to make them not question their actions whilst guilt tripping them.
