Good job Been there. Always easier with an other man and /or machine of course. Sprocket is badly worn, soft turns. If the tension loosens after a little work, tensioner may not be holding pressure. Possibly rolled a rock or wood and tensioner could not compensate with worn sprocket. Least it was dry with plenty of light . Remember, The impossible just takes longer.
