Brass is not attracted to a magnet . This must be plated brass . Of course you could glue a magnet onto the back beforehand .You could use evostik instead of copper tape . The evostik would release if the brass was heated with a soldering iron . The glue would turn to dust with heat . Just use a few dots . Brass to brass only . Or glue some magnetic tape on the back (inside ) and leave the magnet there . Fitting an inner wooden rim would be easy .
