Not all relationships need to last forever. It may end the friendship, or it may make it stronger, but if they're able to have a couple weeks of romantic bliss and exploring all the fun and feeling and are able to part in a respectful, honest way once they realize they aren't compatible in the long run, would that be so bad? I think we do ourselves a disservice by always trying to make everything permanent. It can be very freeing to just acknowledge that hey, you like me, I like you, let's spend this time together while we can and enjoy each other's company and if things keep working out, great! And if they don't, then while that's a bit disappointing I'll always be grateful for the connection we shared and I'll always remember us fondly and I wish you all the best with the rest of your life.
