Hey I think she is smart, everyone is capable to be smart. I think she’s been abused a lot (clearly with ex husband, maybe she was scapegoated in family of origin hence why she had low self esteem to begin with). Nobody is born smart. It takes curiosity to “get smarter”. Curiosity part of the brain kinda just shuts down when someone is being abused emotionally or physically. They enter “survival mode”.
