I'm glad you and Benji got saved. After salvation then what? I've been a believer for a long time now. I've studied with a great pastor-teacher. Tongues and a special word of knowledge ceased when the cannon was complete in AD96. Tongues was always a known language, not gibberish. Getting sound doctrine should be our top priority. We have better things. The baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs at the moment of salvation. The filling of the Spirit depends on the confession sin.

Nelson, I'm not quite clear on something. I always considered Amish another denomination of Christianity. Am I wrong? Do they not believe in Jesus?

Some Amish are Christians and others are not.

yes i agree with @Jschrock478, i would say its complicated, the majority say they believe, some truly believe . but its also much deeper than that.

@@kristineopsommer, as far as I can tell, the Amish are almost-religiously-a form of Anabaptist Catholics and generally Luddites. They tend to believe that salvation is by works, that the Bible is only allowed or mostly allowed in one language (High German, as opposed to Latin), and that the chosen people are now the Amish Church (as opposed to the Catholic Church and as opposed to Ethnic Jews). They also shun the majority of technology from after the 1700s-1800s.

@kristineopsommer to some extent, it is , the Catholic church traditions and ways are the same line of traditional churches, a lot of things operate the same as the Amish community. That is, if you consider Catholic a Christian denomination.
