For context, both routes are canon. Spoilers below: The renegade route interceptor gives the paragon route interceptor the red chain, which is used on Tiempa. The paragon route interceptor gives the end of night spell to the renegade route interceptor, who uses it to delete several major characters. What's being set up is likely around the lines of: To get the flourishing timeline, defeat team xen, and break free from karma's control, other timelines are sacrificed. For the paragon interceptor to succeed, the renegade interceptor must destroy their own universe. This is probably why the renegade interceptor starts talking to M2 in the final cutscene of Karma files, taking control away from the player and telling them that this is for their own benefit. They know that the player, if they truly want a happy ending, won't be able to make the sacrifices necessary to win. This is why I'm not convinced that the player themselves is the interceptor, our character has acted on their own accord many times already and has clearly demonstrated that they have agency and autonomy.

@@markpiper6382 When does EoN pass on from paragon to renegade? Been a bit since I played paragon but I don't remember much of them using EoN. Edit: Nvm, looked it up and I see when PA gets it. I still don't remember when it gets passed off like the Red Chain though.

@@TetraLover001 Probably traded to renegade route when it was made. Likely EoN could only be made in paragon but was needed in renegade. Same thing for red chain just the other way around.

You watch as after beating down your former friend, one with nothing left, his greatest friend gone unjustly and his mother set to die, he transforms into a hideous beast, one in infinite pain that begs for release. You don't need to care for the well-being of this person other than for your own self-defense... but why leave them more meaningless pain? After all, if all goes right... everyone ends up the same... without a trace.

I just hope Talon wasn't conscious during this. That would have been excruciating, judging by the look of this... thing. His entire body is literally melting/corroding off. That eye doesn't help the image. Knowing that it's possible that End of Night, said by MC to be painless despite its effects, brought him relief and let him pass on... it's just... *_pain_* 🪣

I first met Talon and I was like "If anything happens to him I'm killing everyone in this room and then myself" Then I get hit with Renegade and NOW THIS- Love the way you guys wrote him in the story, I did not expect to get this attached so quickly :(

I just want to praise whoever wrote Talon into the story for doing a good job making like him really quickly. My first exposure to his actual in game existence was the paragon route story with Ren. Right afterwards I played up until his death in renegade. As everyone else has been saying, this part of the story succeeded at being really sad. That’s with a new side character Talon who we didn’t know for long. I'm really looking forward to there being some more rift forms of more important characters. I know Aelita started hearing "stop (player)" in her head just like Talon did. Does that mean she's next?

Honestly they made perfect use of Talon, both as a character and as an entity in this multi-timeline story, the one thing more painful than seeing his fate is watching him break down at the realisation that he was tailor-made for it. The world is a game and the developers added him in JUST to live a life of suffering, loss and failure. Of course, with Paragon in mind, that's not true, he has a purpose in the story outside of losing everything and then dying a sad, painful failure, but that's not the Talon you see before you in Renegade, that's someone who got far luckier with the fate you forced upon them.

What is the name or genre of this art style? I ask because I drew a snake with sharp teeth, swirly eyes, spikes in its back, and a stretching arrow pointing down it's tail mark when I was in high school and that was the only thing I could draw in art class really well. When I saw the thumbnail it reminded me of that drawing back when I was 17 I like to think it was Mayan style, or Egyptian style art but I'm not certain enough still, any info would help.

Random question since comments implied something, can Florin even be killed anymore? From what i remember you had to inform Cassandra to get him killed, but i didnt even see her in this version, so what gives? Is it now dependant on doing the Temple in Terajuma with the three of them?

Yes, he can still be killed! The conditions for it have changed between versions. You have to go with Erin & Florin, expose Flora to them and let Florin repeatedly attack the Bladestar grunts.
