Kap SMASHED his desk.... 🔥 Another game and another blown save for the Cubs. Hector Neris gave up a 3-run home run in the 9th inning to blow another save. And Kap is MAD! How many blown saves does the front office need to see before they do something! This is the 16th blown save of the season and it's only June!
And for once the offense actually came to life. Michael Busch and Ian Happ both hit home runs in the game and Seiya Suzuki hit an RBI double. The Cubs went into the 9th with a 2 run lead, but it wasn't enough for this terrible bull pen.
Michael Tauchman may have injured his groin in the game. It'll be interesting to see if they bring up one of their hot bats from AAA like Owen Caissie, Alexander Canario, or Brennen Davis. Kap doesn't have his hopes up since they haven't called any of them up yet after weeks of a struggling offense. But one can hope, right?

The Front Office and Ownership simply do not give a shit about winning. That’s evident. Jed’s interview today was absurd and pissed me the fuck off. But what set me off and over the edge tonight was Counsell’s post game interview. Stoic. Emotionless. Won’t take the job away from Neris despite the same results over and over and over again. Show me you fucking care! He’s supposed to be this great Manager but where is that?? Could have saved $7M a year and kept Grandpa Rossy. The Cubs got fleeced. I cancelled my Marquee subscription tonight. I’m checking out for at least a week. You know it’s bad when after they blew it my Apple Watch told me to breathe and that my heart rate was elevated. Time for my daily post-loss Cubs rant. I have a head of steam tonight. 😡😡😡😡 The bullpen was one of the key areas of need in the offseason. Mr. Jed "Be Patient" Hoyer did next to nothing to address it. And if we're being honest, he probably made it much worse by signing Neris, who's indescribably bad. Yency Almonte showed some flashes when he was healthy, but he's not a difference-maker. Many folks expected Adbert Alzolay to become some beast closer, which was always ridiculous to me. He's not a closer and was fortunate not to blow several saves last year -- he always lived on the edge, just like our buddy Neris. Then he really stunk to start this year before getting hurt. Who knows how he'll perform if and when he returns this season. But the bottom line is this bullpen even at full strength doesn’t have anyone teams can fear. Not a ton of velocity. Nobody that makes opposing teams feel uncomfortable. Craig Counsell won a lot of games in Milwaukee because he always had good, solid pitchers in his bullpen. And of course, he always had lockdown guys at the back end (Hader, Williams). How many trustworthy relievers do the Cubs have right now? One? ....None? Either answer is acceptable. I'd probably go with the latter. I am -- and have been -- way out on Jed Hoyer. At this point, he needs to be let go and Counsell needs to start evaluating who they can keep and who they can get rid of on this roster. This season isn’t getting turned around -- I have lost hope for that. It's been a complete train wreck for seven weeks now. They can't score enough runs to win most nights. And on the rare occasion they do, the bullpen will almost certainly have a meltdown to lose the game anyway. I don't want Jed Hoyer to start making trades or moves now -- ...like he would make any in the first place .... -- because he doesn’t deserve to be calling those shots any longer. He's had plenty of time to build a serious team and has failed by pretty much every measure. ...But thanks so much for the "farm depth" that has hardly made an impact in the majors or in trade acquisitions, Jed.

(1) They won't be forced... they'll play the "Day to Day" game for a week and play short-handed to avoid bringing up a prospect. The only reason I can conclude: they don't believe in the prospects they've hyped up. (2) They called up PCA when he was hot and played him sometimes. He's your top A#1 prospect; a guy, by definition, you're supposed to make room for. And they sit him. Guess what, he's cooled off now and for a young kid who is used to playing every single day, it's got to be hard to get back in the groove playing 2 days, rest 1, PH the next, then play.

Who builds an MLB roster without a solidified corner infield? Who does that? The middle infield is having to hit for power because they have no consistent play from the corner infield. I understand the market was soft in the off season...but Jed & Cater have been here for more than a year. If they couldn't anticipate and plan for this, that's on them. This bullpen is absolute crap...try and trade any of them and you will learn their value. They are the scrap heap rejects that other teams didn't want. When you see Jeremiah Estrada pitching like an All Star and then Jed cuts him and keeps Nick Madrigal you know you are in trouble. Jed has no idea what he's doing. He's only here because he rode the coat tails of Theo. Theo helped get us the WS, but he also hurt the club by mortgaging it so deeply with bad trades at the end.Theo knew what he was doing when he left. This franchise hasn't produced an impact player from it's farm system in around 5 years....Nico & Steele were tripple A players 5 years ago. Having an impact player every 5 years is not good. Look at the Iowa numbers....these farm system guys are not good. Yet all we hear about is how good the farm club is. Cade Horton has an ERA of 7. That's not good, that's bad. This team has blown so many chances that it's not funny. What the hell are they doing with PCA? They send him back to Iowa and he plays fantastic. They bring him back up to platoon him? Play him at the bottom of the order? Someone should get fired for this alone. Another example of Jed not knowing what the hell he's doing. You have no corner infield. Make Bellinger your every day 1st baseman- first base problem solved. Put PCA at the leadoff position and make him your every day center fielder. Let him play to his strengths...having that speed on the base paths equates to more run production. Having him bat at the top of the lineup gets him more chances to be on base. This is not rocket science. That they are deviating from this shows how utterly terrible this front office and new manager really are. They stink; they are terrible. Finally if you need.a real third baseman. Morel and Busch should be on this team as developmental players...not every day starters. Busch seems like he's starting to make a counter adjustment after the league caught on to him....I think he'll progress...but he should be DH and play to give Beli a break. He's not a starting first baseman. not yet. We have no catcher; Amaya is terrible. This team needs a starting third baseman, a catcher and several bullpen arms. This bullpen sucks from top to bottom.
