i think that the second version ruined the movie. i'm not from india or pakistan so i don't undestand Urdu, but i think that Rekha made an effort with her accent and work her dance performance better than aishwarya did, in the last version the camera was focusing on aishwarya's beautiful face to hide her lack of talent (acti+dance) and this is just ridiculous. i'm very sorry for nowadays movies, but still enjoy the oldies

He with his wife Meera Ali, shared many memories like they work for welfare of villagers and nearby villages from their home town in Kotwara. People got a lot of benefits from his work. Also many people have come to share their memories and how Umrao Jaan has affected them a lot. Even an ambassador from Lithuania has deep auto of film since childhood, when she knew nothing of Hindi movies or language and see, now she's here in India as a ambassador. Its a lot actually

I totally agree with you. Ash made a beautiful Umrao Jaan, but that was about it. I must admit, the 'ada' was missing in a lot of scenes and her dancing, as everyone knows, isn't up to par with Rani's. She was a model, not an actress or dancer. Unfortunately, she wouldn't be able to top Rani or Rekha's performances, but again that was foreseeable.
