love most of this - but having the grey tanks outside kills 4 season for me. Fresh water is great, but I would have had those hugs under the sink or something. it kills stealth in a parking lot too if you want to use water.

My truma cooler is dispersing heat into the back of the cab . Also the voltage converter also disperses a lot of heat making the back of the van a oven ! The only place that’s cool is front of the cab . The shower area is to small for a 6 ‘ person . Also the water from the shower comes out of the shower curtain and runs out into the cab . This setup is made for cooler climate not for the south area of this country. The ac on the top is about 2 feet away from my face . I don’t know where the thermostat is located family can steal but where you’re laying down it’s cold and the reading on the digital wall is saying 20° difference . Lots of problems . Also sumo Springs are a must . Is not design for people that are 6 foot or taller . It’s made to heat up the vehicle . Also if you have The ice cooler heating up the cab and the voltage transformers heating up the cab the ac is over cooking where people sleep .

It's so interesting watching him try and figure what the use case is (he's definitely not a user). Only limitations I see is that the grey water could have been underneath (allows stealth camping and saves holes in the exterior), the Truma takes up well needed counterspace and should have been on the ground on a slideout allowing for a storage and cook station above, and the bed cables need some thinking or another support or you can't get out of bed easily. Otherwise, love what Pleasureway has done here.

I wonder why 12v a/c was not chosen if this is for off-the-grid. I see many conversions choose 12v a/c over 110v version. Can that be an option when ordering one?
@pleasureway2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chester, as Grant discussed in the video at 16:00 the reason we don't use a 12v a/c is due to the battery capacity requirements to run it. Our 400Ah's of lithium batteries is a significant power source but it would only run an a/c for 2-3 hours at best. We didn't want owners to be stranded with dead batteries after such a short time running an a/c. So as it stands with the REKON, the only option is a 110V a/c. Thanks for your question!

That's a deal breaker for me. They could do it just add more lithium. I was getting ready to buy one until I realized this. Such a shame.

Grant, thanks for this review. It provided more details on the Rekon. You guys just added the A/C unit. What is the overall height with the A/C?
@pleasureway2 жыл бұрын
Hello! The overall height with the A/C is 9'11" / 302 cm. (9'5" without the A/C)

From decades of experience, strongly suggest using diesel hot water and interior heating especially in Winter LP goes really fast and looses pressure quickly.

Does the added AC unit on the roof reduce the amount of solar panels?
@pleasureway2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, yes that's correct. If you choose the A/C option you will get 3, 100-Watt solar panels (opposed to 4 panels with no A/C).

I really wish it had windows, feels very cold. Target customer is the people who want to go off the grid, but doesn't allow AC unless hooked into shore power? You can in the revel, jayco and entegra

What are the dimensions of floor space in garage?
@pleasureway2 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin, the raised floor space in the garage is 69" L x 44" W. With the bed down you have 30" of height. I'll add that there is an additional 3" of length in the garage as there is a gap between the rear doors and the raised floor, so it ends up being 72" of length. Hope that helps!

@@dwingo8003 running the AC off grid for a short while is often all it takes. cool the van down after sunset, keep it cool for an hour while taking a nap after a hike, let it run for an hour while stopped for making lunch...I'm using my off- grid AC all the time and never ever drained my house batteries - not even close. I agree that not being able to do that in the REKON is a huge oversight.

@@dwingo8003 The Storyteller Overland and Winnebago Travato with the VOLTA system can run the a/c all night off grid, they have huge battery capacity. In addition the Storyteller Overland Beast Mode has an automatic engine on system so there is no battery limitation to running the a/c off-grid. Nevertheless the REKON is an interesting design and beautiful in it's simplicity. Less to go wrong.
