I don't think it was a prop coming off, it would have spun out of control with a loss of a prop instead of just snapping back and forth like it did. It actually does look like it took a hit from something to me but, if you were going 70 km/h that would rule out something like a seagull. It doesn't look like you are going that fast and I don't know what other kinds of birds would be out there in your area?

Thank you for your comment! Yes, really strange. Maybe a motor was overheating?! But then again I was at most around 50% throttle. I was also JB in his live stream today and he had an interesting analyses with the outcome that he also can not tell what happened. Thanks again for the comment and have a good rest of the day!

looks like a failsave

Thank you! It really looks like but I have my failure set to return to home and was testing this. It worked fine on Betaflight 4.3 which I am running on this quad. Because of that I am still leaning towards a bird. In a failsafe situation when just dropping the propellers would stop I believe and here they keep spinning. This also could be an indication that something else was going on.

Thank you! Well, I am also leaning towards a bird hit on the rear right motor since the quad ditched first to the right. But I was flying at about 70 km/h and it would be difficult for a bird to catch it from behind just following me. If it was a bird it must have come from above attacking in a dive. In the video, when approaching this location, I was searching the sky over and over when re-watching the footage, but could not spot any birds circling above the crash location. The resolution of the footage is however not the best and maybe there was one hiding somewhere.

I had the same thing happen on one of my first flights. I think I lost a prop. Took a while to get replacement parts and then I noticed a loose chip on the FC. I was pretty dejected 😢

Thank you, that is the other think I had in mind. Maybe it really was a prop falling off. At failsafe it would trigger RTH. Really wish I could dive down there and get it back for analyses.

@@MattShonan I never liked the props that came with my rekon6... Bought new ones, but have yet to get it back in the air. It will be a good winter project.

The props I kinda like... but the mounting is a bit scary ... maybe that is what was also the issue for me in the end.

Correct, that one. I feel this is a weak link which can easily fail. Maybe this is the reason why I lost mine.
