Heyy, these are great tips! I got questions: In Rekordbox, how do the tracks can store its cue points without losing it when we change folders in computer? For instance, after I have set the cue points of some tracks on one laptop and saved these tracks into a external hard disk to another laptop, how do I keep the cue points? Thanks! Jamie, great videos as always. Having bought a brand new XDJ-XZ only a coupe of weeks ago, it doesn’t work in Performance mode. The audio driver is never available in the drop down, so I’m forced to use Export mode. How can I sort my “Playlists” by “Key” first, then “Filename” and then “BPM” on the 7” screen display?

I use the XDJ1000MK2 itself for the GRID SHIFT, the 10 MEMORY POINTS and 8 HOT CUEs. It's much faster. If the current Track was loaded from the RecordBox directly via LINK into the Player all the set points will be driectly transfered to you RecordBox software imediatly. No keyboard mess anymore.

Great video. :) Is there a way once you have the HISTORIES imported back to RekordBox for the histories to be exported to a .txt file or plain text? I am just thinking this could be a really easy way to make tracklists if so? :)

I just bought Rekordbox and this tutorial has helped heaps. I have one question though. What's the difference between "Export" mode and regular mode?

Export mode is for exporting tracks to a usb device to be played on cdjs or xdjs and performance mode is designed to actually Dj with so it plugs into controllers, cdjs or xdjs and you can use those pieces of hardware to control the software to Dj with.

When plugged into performance mode with a controller, can you set a cue point on the controller and have it match and save in the software? That way it can later be exported for standalone usage. I essentially want to prep with my XDJ plugged into performance mode and then export to usb for standalone usage with CDJs

@crossfader is there a way to export/import all the sample bay settings? I switch between two laptops running Rekordbox 5, and I have my entire library mapped to my thumb drive, so all the playlists and folders are the same no matter which computer I'm using, however the sample bays don't seem to be syncing: for example I add samples to the sampler bay on one computer, then when I use the same thumb drive on the other computer none of the sample I added are there, and I manually have to re-add the samples which is pain in the butt. I've tried exporting the library in xml and getting the other computer to import from there, but the sampler bay still doesn't sync. Any thoughts?

Hi there, thanks for your videos, i learned a lot watching them! I'm new to rekordbox and was wondering if there's a way to move set hot cues for example from F to D? I often have somewhat redundant HCs and would like to remove the ones which are too similar and move the following ones back one (or more) position, so they stay in order.

So I take a vocal sample put it into my sample pads how do I get it to play synced to the beat.. I've pressed the sync button still there's a delay play at its average speed but plays fine on the deck nicely synced to the beat. But I need it to play to the beat in sample pad

Hi Jamie, I've followed the steps above but for some reason my tunes all appear on the USB by artist folder, not by playlist, so I can't view the Rekordbox playlists when viewing on the CDJs. Any advice on how to get around this?? Cheers

Hi I have a question, before a show I'm working out my tracks with recorbox so I save mu cue point etc then once I put my USB on cdj I can see on display the cue point but the track won't start from the 1sr cue point that I save it, anyone can help me to understand??

I now want to export them to a new USB but keeping the folders they have always been in without having to create loads of new playlists. Is this a feature and if so, would you be able to show me how? Hey, you could drag and drop the folders onto your usb but you would need to also export the tracks through rekordbox as well meaning you would have half the capacity on your device. Unfortunately there is no way to export your computers folder structure via rekordbox. You have to either export rekordbox playlists or individual tracks. You can however turn your current folders into playlists by navigating to the folder within the rekordbox explorer, right click the folder and turn folder into playlist. But this won’t update in real time as you download and add new music.

I need help i just bought xdj rx2 and exported my music just like you said and all was fine all the music was 100 complete then i pulled usb out when i pulled him out i got a note that i didnt pulled usb corectly and the data may be damaged but anyway i get to the unit put usb in and all was fine for 3h then it started to lag when i pres play music is playing with no problem but when i press pause some kinda sound is comming from my speakers annoying soud like u put loop 1/16 and now im very worried i dont know if thats usb or the unit is broken i need help please

This comment is for Pioneer, why why why would you not have hot cue access for the CDJ 900 Nexus? I can't use hot cue from Rekordbox export with my set up. It's pretty much the same as a CDJ 2000. what a shame!

Hi, I’ve watched so many of these videos but when it comes to putting it into practice it doesn’t work. I have history playlists I want to export to usb with cue points but sync manager goes through the motions then tells me it was unsuccessful and throws up a box to say where the text log is . Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

performance mode is for djing out. export is for prepping ( i think ) lol

+romer is that maybe because quantize is turned on? If so it will try lock to whatever quantize settings you have in the settings usually 1 beat. If quantize is turned off and it's not playing immediately then it could be to do with the buffer settings and how much power Rekordbox is using but not too sure other than that.

Pioneer only unless you dj from the software directly on a laptop/computer.

Hot cues bank lists aren’t supported on the XDJ RX or XDJ RX2 unfortunately. Just on the CDJ/XDJ players.

I need this .txt file to open it with OBS studio and this way I can show in the stream what track I am playing. How do I get this famous txt file. ? I have a question. I've got lots of unanalyzed tracks in my rekordbox, whenever I import track/folder etc it won't automatically analazy it, I have to do it manualy. So, I have like 1000 tracks, and I have to manually analyze them. That's hard. Any tip? Sorry for my bad English.

+Doktor Senki for the tracks you have in there that need analysing you can select all using cmd + A or cntrl + a wether you're on a Windows or mac. Then right click and analyse files so they do all of them in one go. For new files that you're adding to rekordbox it should analyse them automatically if you're dragging the files to the collection, or right clicking a folder and importing as a playlist from the explorer menu. If you want to analyze keys automatically you will need to click the gear icon, go to analysis tab then check 'enable key analysis on import' Let us know if you're still having problems.
