Thanks Christian! We started on Native Instruments Traktor Pro and now just got our first set of CDJ-3000's and getting started with Rekordbox. The two programs have a lot in common. We will be spending time on your channel, thanks for so many helpful videos!

Hi Christian. Have to say this tutorial has been extremely insightful. I purchased a Pioneer XDJ-RX yesterday and only installed Rekordbox to my Mac today. Within half an hour I now feel extremely confident with utilising this system. I was extremely frustrated at the looseness of the grid but know my beats are tighter than a golf ball through a garden hose. I'll always be Old Skool in terms of being a beat matching vinyl DJ, however I do believe it's all about embracing the future and not fighting it. The creativity I can express with this now industry standard set up will no doubt allow me to fit many records and creative mash ups into my sets. Big up yourself. Peace. B

Nice video! My tip: I like to assign different colours to the memory cue points, so you don't need to label them all but still know what they are for. E.g. Drops are red, Mix out points are orange, Bridge/Interludes green, Vocals Purple, etc.

Awesome tutorial. Thanks Christian! I must add - for anyone that is creating and placing MEMORY CUES - you must move the CUE point (above the play button) to the desired placement of the red memory marker. This may go with out saying but took me a few minuets to figure out lol.

Great video bro! Very well explained! Keep up the great work bro! You've done some EXCELLENT tutorial/repair videos lately. I like your long ass videos, especially when it comes to Pioneer DJ gear! This video right here, has taught me how to fully utilise Rekordbox with my CDJ 2000 Nexus' You Sir, are a Pioneer DJ geek! A cool Pioneer DJ geek :) Pioneer seriously need to know about your KZbin channel bro! You deserve free Pioneer DJ gear! You explained Rekorbox better than Pioneer themselves! And I ain't shitting ya there bro! You are my go to guy when it comes to Pioneer DJ gear!

I think you refer to the Dj's who are next level, spiritual with it. When they have a crowd in front of them they can draw the energy from the crowd, enduse different feelings, basicaly knowing when to use whichever tune they choose. A proper DJ cannot be taught, sure you can be taught to match beats and scratch, flip the crossfader from side to side (cutting) But you either have it or you don't and most don't.

Thank you Christian! Throwing in with the XDJ-RX next month (or whenever Pioneer ships my order). As a mobile, I used to love my CDJ1000/DJM600 set up. After dropping CDs I went Numark for their HD controllers (no computer hook up). Very convenient, but really missed the feel of my Pios. Tried Denon with VDJ and a couple Serato iterations. Your tutorial video helped sell me on coming back.

never thought of mapping out all major changes, thanks for that. also putting in a loop beforehand is really handy (making it red) there is a way around to organising playlists, I usually make folders and put folders in that containing a particular bpm range in that genre. Like Classics 090-099 - Classics 100-109 - Classics 110-119 etc.

Christian, you did correctly predict that notes would eventually be visible in memory cues. Not sure if it was on this video, or another one of yours, but I can speak for the XDJ-RX, and it does show the names of the memory cues as you toggle through them. They only stay on the screen for a few seconds, but it's still great to have a way to remind yourself about details of the track.

I just started using Rekordbox and this was a perfect intro. A couple of years ago I purchased an S2 and F1 with Traktor Pro 2, yet, barely used it due to time constraints. Recently got back into it and got a great gift (DDJ-RZX) and now really have to get up the learning curve. If you have any tips, or things to check out...please do let me know. Again, thank you!

Christian, I realized this video is super old. but if any one would know the answer to this, I think it would be you. Is there anyway to sync Rekordbox DJ (using a DDJ-1000 + XP1) to automate VJ software or do you think the built in software would be the way to go?
@therealstrategist8 жыл бұрын
Loved this video. the Active Loop feature is really cool and I look forward to trying it out. one question though: Do you know if there is a way to organize a playlist by BPM and then Key? I have a large playlist that I want to organize, so I can develope a nice mix. It has all genres, a bpm range from 70-174, and all keys.

This video is very good, I'm just starting out and this is very helpful. One question though, you talk about cdj's throughout but is this also relevant to a controller aswell? The controller was by far the cheaper and more convenient option for me but it does use the same software.
