UK sludge legends IRON MONKEY return with their highly anticipated new album, Spleen and Goad! On the new album, the legendary band are as uncompromising ever, churning out some of the most gritty sounding sludge doom in their 25 + year history. Dubbed a "doom sludge vanguard" by The Sludgelord, IRON MONKEY live up to their legacy, absolutely pummelling through each of the 8 tracks on their new album. From the two-ton, heavier-than-anything-else riff opening "Concrete Shock", IRON MONKEY show no signs of easing up; fuzzed out guitars crash against pulse-pound drums, set against vicious, misanthropic snarls and barks. Elsewhere, tracks like the aptly titled "Rat Flag" kicks the band into high gear with palpable fury and malaise. Recorded in their native Nottingham, Spleen and Goad was mastered stateside by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.

I remember it was quite common to throw shit at this band back in '17 when 9-13 was released. Old fans just didn't seem to cope with the band's new lineup and Johnny Morrow missing, while newbies thought it was "cheesy" for some reason. That attitude seems to be gone now and people actually praise this new album. Which is most welcome 'cause this stuff is KILLER! 🤘🔥

Jim Rushby man, total monster of a player, what a sound, been a fan of this band since it's inception, and the fact they are still coming out with music like this that tears yer face off, just be happy that they are, Jim, if yer reading this mate, you keep it going, you are like the Tony Iommi of a new generation, Garry Jennings from Cathedral also, keeping heavy alive, keeping riffs coming that flatten worlds, lovin' it, Up The Monkey, that's what I say............

Thank you, Iron Monkey. I've been a fan since the early 00's when i was a kid. After everything, I never thought id see the day where Iron Monkey came back with new music as an adult. They did in 17, and it was awesome, and again when i thought they were done for, they put this shit out. This record is awesome, from start to finish. Thank you again Iron Monkey
