Thankyou so much for your experience. I am going blind myself and I’m terrified...it’s soooo much to learn...

My girlfriend is vision impaired. We have been in our relationship for almost 5 years now. It has been rocky from time to time as she is stubborn, just like me. She is a wonderful human being, so loving and caring! She always asks me to communicate to her as it helps her so much! Unfortunately, I don't communicate with her more often than not. I will use this video and get a better understanding of what her wants are. Thank you so much for sharing this video with the world. Keep up the good work team!

I love the vid. You made some great points. From my experience though, the whole thing about not leaving things just haphazardly thrown around isn't such an issue. Maybe I have simply gotten used to banging my shin and stubbing my toe, but I think it's mainly because I don't run around my home.People have said that I don't pick up my feet very far, so maybe the fact that I kind of shuffle keeps me from falling also. I really don't know.Blind people, a tip, walk around barefoot. You can feel so much with your feet. I have animals, and they have accidents. If I were wearing shoes, I would track the mess everywhere, but if I am barefoot, I feel it immediately. It grosses me out, but I can clean it up and off of my foot right then instead of not knowing it's there and leaving a trail.

the point regarding leaving obstacles in the way you made at the 8:57 mark is extremely important! also, closing all cabinet doors is SUPER important.

Good video. A lot of that boils down to communication.

As a totallyh blind man, I'd say the tip involving organizing your house isn't crucial. It's nice, but I don't like to make people think that when a blind person comes over, or they move in with one, they have to neatly organize the house. There's this idea going around that you can't re-arrange the furniture or move anything unless you take them on a new tour. YThat isn't absolutely necessary, although it is apreciated.

I use to have a girlfriend with albinism, i was 12, she was the same age. I moved a year later (quite far away) and lost touch with her. But can remember she said she was happy that a boy liked her,...thinking back at that, i really hope she found love. I'd feel sh***y if she didn't. (sure, i was a kid, but still) Just stumbled onto this video,..and it immediately reminded me of her, just triggered the memory. Anyway - Great video, lovely couple and 👍-up.
