Bro you said something that is exactly what happened to me without me even realizing it. My ex did so many things that hurt me and every time i would bring it up or try to start a conversation about it he would get mad that i was picking a fight. I thought he was right so i stopped bringing it up and i let myself get walked all over and hurt even more. He also would be mad at me for things but never tell me because he didn’t want to “pick a fight” but how would i even know i was making him mad if he wouldn’t tell me how he was feeling. We lacked good communication and that’s one of MANY reasons why we didn’t work. Communication is so important!

HANNAH, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOUUU! I seriously NEEEDED to hear this. I don't disagree with ANYTHING you said. I needed to see this video because, Hannah... I was in a toxic relationship for almost TWO YEARS with a complete narcissist and I DON'T KNOW HOW I STAYED THAT LONG! I literally broke up with them every week/two weeks for TWO YEARS and he would BEG and beg for me to stay and tell me he would change and blah blah, and NOTHING EVER CHANGED! I felt SO empty with him! He ruined my grades, my confidence, my creativity, I was LOST and had no social support because of him. I lost all my friends, and I finally had a breaking point in November of 2019, where I thought IT WILL NEVER EVER WORK and that he doesn't deserve me one bit! When I broke up with him, he was harassing and stalking me and my friends at college for 3 months, and I had to get my university's *harassment* staff to stop it! His mom wanted me to die and he never stood up for me! Everyone told me but I never saw it because I am so empathetic towards people and I forgive and I want people to grow, but NOPE. This person never did! Nor did my ex before that...or before that... or.. (you get it), UP UNTIL I UNEXPECTEDLY met this AMAZING guy (literally a prince) a month ago, I reconnected with him from two years ago when I met him, and I AM IN LOVE! I was sooo scared of messing it up and obviously, I thought it was too soon to get back into a relationship, I am definitely not ready to go all out and be romantic, and I hope he's doesn't misunderstand that I am not going at my max right now... but obviously I did a good job with just getting to know him because he can't get enough of me and it's in the *most healthy way possible!* I feel so lucky and so does he and we are not officially together but definitely talked about it and we see sooo much going for us, we are both studying towards the same career (dentistry), and there are soo many opportunities that can come from that and our similar values. I can't wait until you meet someone so amazing, Hannah, I love your independence, I am the same as you, but I can't wait to see you so happy with someone that you want to stay with forever without effort!

The best advice I can think of that I wish i'd thought of when young is to take an accredited basic psychology course. It will help you to understand yourself and what YOU need first, and also help you pick out those who are putting on an act - which most men and women do at first, and some can keep it up until after marriage a couple of years along the line. Still, there will be tells and a basic psychology course will help you spot important things you might otherwise not notice or may dismiss.
