Alan, a heads up, Warner Brothers just converted Dallas to HD and put it on streaming and they're also working on converting Knots! Don't know the time table, but once the HD conversion is complete it'll be streaming and hopefully on dvd.

Great interview! It's a crime that Knots isn't on streaming or DVD (other than the first two seasons). It's pretty well known that it's due to the music licensing cost for all the songs that Lisa Hartman covered on the show as Ciji and Cathy (the characters that Chip killed and was, accidentally, killed by). All those 80's hits would be expensive to re-license and were not written into the original agreements as no one had any idea of the future media distribution platforms that would come later.

I remember one of Crystal Chappell's (Olivia Spencer) first scenes on Guiding Light. She is rifling like a madman through Reva and Josh's hotel room in San Cristobal looking for something about why Reva came back to the island nation after so many years and saying: "Why have you come back?" She then looks at a picture of Reva, Josh, Marah and Shane and comments on it saying "You already have a loving family, why must you have everything!?"

Great interview with a great couple! Michael has been on every daytime show I remember seeing him a lot! Crystal has always been great since the first time I saw her on GL, she was great. Her and Natalia pairing I didn't know if they would be accepted even in the 2000, but they were and it worked. Wishing them continue success, Michael needs to be back on one of the remaining soaps, I can see him being paired with Jess Walton on Y&R!

I think the Olivia Spencer character took the place of the Annie Dutton character when Signy Coleman left Guiding Light in 1999. What I mean by this is that Olivia was a rival for Reva just like Annie was.

Today is Jan 5, 2025. This was a terrific interview. No ones interrupting the other, trying to overshadow the other. You can really tell Crystal loves her husband. Every time he talks, she looks at him with such admeration & hangs on to every word he says. Every now & again, Crystal throws a bragging moment in, in which Michael is not saying about himself. I have to say this though. I was & still am, a Dr. Carly Manning & Bo Brady fan. I was never fond of Lawrence Alamain. I don't like villains or villainess'. I had been a DOOL fan since 1986. I was just 21 when I started watching. I didn't have any favorite couples at that time, but Peter Reckell was the one I wanted to see. He was a very handsome man. Not a fan of KA. When Crystal joined the show, I quickly became a Bo & Carly fan. Crystal is a phenomenal actress. She really got into character. Her emotions were out of this world. Every time she cried, I cried. She'd put you right there in the scene with her. I couldn't watch the "Burried Alive Scenes" I got as far as Nicky walking up to Bo, apologizing to him for all of the mean stuff he did, to break he & Carly up. Then Bo hugs Nicky & tells him it was okay. I lost it, my chest hurt & the tears came. That's when I stopped watching the show. Carly was going to die, so I didn't want to watch the show anymore. I didn't know the Carly character was saved, nor did I know her character left the show with Lawrence. I just recently started watching some of the Days show on KZbin. I still don't like the Lawrence character. I kid you not. Just last night I was trying to watch the 'Burried Alive scenes" I got to the same scene as I did in 1993 with Nicky & Bo & it still had the same affect on me. My chest hurt & the tears flowed. I fast forward the whole storyline. Here it is, almost 32 years later & I still can't watch that storyline. Crystal & I are the same age, with me being 4 months older. Michael & I have the Accordion in common. I don't remember how to play though. I was 7 at the time, when I played. My accordion was beautiful. It was an ivory marble color with the piano keys. It was bigger than myself. It was stolen out of our house & I didn't play after that.
